When I was younger I played a lot of video games, and there was a lot of inventive music composers around who got the best out of the limited hardware (such as Rob Hubbard with the Commodore 64 SID chip).
Anyway, Sub-Terrania, a Megadrive (aka Genesis) game has my favourite video game music of mid-80's, and it's composed by Jesper Kyd who went on to compose lots of good music for various consoles over the years.
Sub-Terrania - My favourite bit starts at 28 mins 45 secs
