“ THE GREEN CONCERT”

Saudi Arabia National Day 2018.
On the occasion of the 88th Saudi National Day, which falls on the 23rd of September 2018, the General Entertainment Authority will be hosting a spectacular cultural performance in Riyadh. The Green Concert event is conceived by legendary French electronic musician Jean-Michel Jarre.
Jarre, as customary, is to enhance his live stage performance with his signature dazzling world-class 3D visuals and architectural lighting. The event is free and open to all Saudi public.
The Green Concert performance aims to beautifully simulate the Kingdom’s future and portray the vision of HRH Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman. Furthermore, it will symbolize environmental values and ambitions adopted by the Kingdom in regards to renewable energy and a better future for the planet. Jarre’s central stage-set will be powered entirely by solar energy harvested from solar panels in a representation of such environmental conservation aspirations.
Additionally, the show will serve as a bold statement of hope and development dedicated to ambitious Saudi youth eager to contribute to achieving a bright and promising future for their nation.
Globally acclaimed Jean-Michel Jarre is a four-time Guinness world record holder for largest concert-events ever performed, and is also a United Nations UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Environment and Education. Jarre sold more than 80 million albums worldwide, and is renowned for his groundbreaking concerts performed at historical landmarks across the world.

Fête Nationale de l’Arabie Saoudite 2018
A l’occasion de la Fête Nationale saoudienne, le 23 septembre, l’Autorité Générale des Événements Culturels a demandé à Jean-Michel Jarre de concevoir un concert-spectacle unique en son genre. L’événement, qui a été pensé dans un esprit de rassemblement, sera gratuit et ouvert à toutes et à tous.
Ce concert allie culture et technologies de pointe et s’inscrit dans la Vision 2030 du prince héritier Mohammad bin Salman. Le « Green Concert » est un message d’avenir envoyé à la jeunesse saoudienne. Le concert de musique électronique du pionnier français s’associera à l’énergie nouvelle de cette jeune nation saoudienne.
L’Arabie Saoudite a choisi Jean-Michel Jarre, légende française de la musique électronique. Avec plus de 80 millions d’albums vendus, quatre Guinness records pour avoir réalisé des shows hors norme à travers le monde, ce musicien a non seulement changé notre perception de la musique, il est également Ambassadeur de Bonne Volonté auprès de l’UNESCO pour l’Education et l’Environnement.
Ce concert sera aussi l’occasion d’alerter sur l’urgence pour la planète de se tourner vers les énergies renouvelables. Dans cette optique, les instruments du musicien français seront alimentés à l’aide de panneaux solaires.
