Anyway let's get back ontopic

I would've never guessed it :P

I was going over it last night: salt, snot, spit, silt, swat, scat, sept, shot...

I gather you have not kept up with current issues?

Whatever did happen to this lawsuit?

I agree with all those who thought the "New Master Recording" was surely just a new *mixdown* from the original multi-tracks, albeit a very meticulous, digitally-controlled one.

In those days it was very common to add a lot of FX stuff manually during mixdown, so JM would have had to re-create loads of tape echo and reverb and stuff when he did the new mix, I bet. It must've been incredibly fiddly!

JMJ won his rights to Oxygéne.
Francis Dreyfus is dead.
Case closed?

Interesting - of course, it does not explicitly state this, but looks as if Jarre agreed with Dreyfus that he was clearly violating the copyright and so they settled out of court.

The section after that on the (lack of) DVD releases is odd - it says they have the 1" PAL videotape masters and were going to press DVDs but then destroyed them after pressing?! Doesn't really say WHY though!
