Hello!

I think that maybe the reason for that Europe in Concert countdown on JMJ's social media is because of a new realease (audio or video) from that tour.

It's interesting that upcoming dates, Berlin and Versailles (September 11th,12th and 24th), apart of Barcelona and others, were professionally recorded on video... maybe it's to dream a lot, but it's a possibility...

Incredibly, those teasers from EiC Barcelona official video, using for that countdown these days, has a very bad quality, nothing remastered.

Or maybe it's a Chronologie 2 album?, what do you think?.

Yeah, I noticed it with Kanta's updates of JMJs social media posts. There's a countdown with a different number each day. At first I thought he was just posting some small snippets, but I noticed the numbers too. And all the throwbacks to the EiC tour also makes you wonder if it is Europe in Concert related. I really hope so, I was watching the Barcelona video last week and musically it's fantastic.

Hello !

Hard to know...
When I saw the activity around Europe in Concert, I thought "oops a mega crisis of nostalgia" of this crazy time!
But even the idea of an official reissue in high definition of the Barcelona concert would necessarily be great news!
I think a lot of fans miss those moments.

Oh yes, I usually turn to the upscaled versions of the concerts nowadays. Sadly, you can't do much on the pretty blatant editing of the tracks in that video, which is really bad at some times. Chrono 1 being faded out after the countdown, tracks being cut...

I personally doubt it'll be a Chronologie sequel album. First because I don't think it's time for a new album yet while he's still in the mids of the Oxymore campaign, posting new remixes and teasing some names we haven't heard remixes of (he namedropped NSDOS and Irene Dresel a few months ago). Second because the posts on his social media explicitly refer to the live concerts, tour dates etc.

The countdown was kind of pointing to Sunday. Nothing happened there. We got that Renault thing yesterday. I find it hard to believe they were connected, but it's not entirely impossible that it was a sloppy social media job.

:D :D :D That's so true!

Yeah, I also don't think there will be a Chronologie sequel but I'll be thrilled if there is. If it is a concert film (re)release, is there still a demand for physical releases in the age of streaming, You Tube etc? It's not like there's a VHS revival, like the vinyl revival.

Yeah, a physical release is quite unsure nowadays. Disney announced they'll stop releasing blurays in Australia (on the other hand, they announced a ton of Disney+ series on physical release). But streaming/digital only is a huge problem for the long term. Just look at the Vintage single release (2007) and the Bourges live album (2006). Where can you get these now? They're gone. So yes, I'm really and absolutely hoping for physical releases in the future.

Actually, there is... VHS is quite popular with horror movies and there's a few new horror movies coming out on VHS.

With the new release of the new Rolling Stones album on the horizon and speculation of guest stars appearing (Paul and Ringo, Lady Gaga), I suddenly thought it might be an announcement that JMJ is playing on the album too. After the La Concorde concert he was asked to play in the Stones, but he had to go to China.

On the other hand, he's now posting videos of Aalborg and Moscow so maybe it's going to be a box of releases of not only EiC. Aarrgh, I am thinking much too much about this!! Why did you make this topic 😜

I'm now wondering if there will be a book release, a retrospctive of concerts and albums. In the form of a follow-up or 'part 2' to the Jean-Louis Remilleux book from 1988. So much has happened since then, a next installment is long overdue. The Jean-Louis Remilleux book did finish on a cryptic 'more to follow....' caption

... or perhaps it's a simple as the person that runs JMJ's social media accounts has just decided to be a bit nostalgic right now! :D

This is the most plausibele answer
