Welcome to the new BlahBlahCafe!

A new server, a new environment. Updated and all.

As with every migration, some things might have been lost in translation (at least, that's my experience in software development). The main problem is logging in into the boards. These could be caused by several reasons:

- Your browser cache & cookies need to be cleared because we moved to a new server. If you get the error message whilst logging: "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again.", you need to clear your cache & cookies. You can find a "Delete cookies" option at the bottom of this page.

- There is also a chance that your password is not correctly converted to the new system. This is a known bug with migrating the system. The only solution is to request a new password, there's a link on the form that will send an email to you to create a new password. If that fails, I can set a password for you, you can contact us at the "Contact us" link at the bottom of the page.

HTTPS

This forum is one of the increasingly rare sites on the net that still does not support encrypted connections.
Any chance of getting HTTPS support working (e.g. via LetEncrypt) ?

As is the case with Electronica, Oxygene 3 and Planet Jarre - making the whole high-res thing pointless.
pointless indeed...

For me it's just the opposite, but nevermind the artwork - at the end of the day it's the music that matters, and Jarre really delivers on this one. :D

I lucked out with the lottery and got the "good" cover artwork on my LP. After one listen I can say that it works rather well as an album, even including the weird movement 6 (cue the remix contest ). The occasional nods to the original are much appreciated, especially the "b...

Ah, the already infamous "Movement 6" AKA "can I have some more cheese with that, please?"... Well, compared to Calypso, Computer Weekend and the usual suspects from Magnetic fields this new kind of cheese isn't exactly Tomme De Chèvre De Pays, more like straight off a MacDo chee...

After listening to the first two movements I really like what I hear so far (aside from the "deafwater" mastering, obviously...) As for the artwork and the surrounding ideas behind the album ... not a fan at all. It would have been more fitting to have it presented as a straight con...

Not a fan of the second artwork, either. :(
To me this looks like what the end of Oxygene Part 20 sounds like.
Can we please stop the dystopianism and get some optimism back, please...

Now that's good news, but seriously ... why does JMJ have to be the next one to jump on the AI bandwagon? That's gotta be *the* most overrated technology buzzword of the early 21st century. We already have one group of people scared out of their wits by the thought of machines out-thinking humans, a...

If you zoom in on some of the pictures at Discogs you can read that they are indeed based on the infamous Dadwater remasters, as expected/dreaded. I think it is high time for one of the audiophile reissue labels like MoFi or Speaker's Corner to get their hands on those original analogue tapes for a ...

new Revolutions + Chronologie / Chronology LP in April ?

I just came across a listing for a new vinyl LP release of Chronologie (as "Chronology"), supposedly to be released in April 2018: https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/poprock/detail/-/art/jean-michel-jarre-chronology/hnum/8142681 Unfortunately you can pretty much bet that this is going to be based on...

Oxygene 7-13 LP - why so rare/expensive?

I recently managed to pick up one of the 12" single releases of Oxygene 8 for a few bucks ... and if the prices listed on Discogs are anything to go by, none of those are expensive at all (even promo copies). The 7-13 album on the other hand tends to go for ridiculous triple-digit sums, which s...

Btw. I wonder if the "Dadwater" pseudonym is something like "Alan Smithee" ;) From page 34: Yeah, it's a pun. Perreau sounds like Pere Eau which is Dad Water (in english). His real name is David Perreau - more about him: http://yakudaaudio.com/en/who.php as well as: http://www.z...

Based on those comparisons I personally would definitely pick the 1997 LP (if I could get my hands on one without paying an arm and a leg, that is... ;) ). The 1997 CD (the only version I own) sounds ok-ish, though obviously a bit louder than I'd like. As for the 2016 samples they overdid it with th...

Oh my... I did expect loudness issues with the mastering but this indeed so much worse than expected. I'm really glad I decided to wait until I forked over that kind of money for the shoddy cash-grab that box set apparently is, but then again, I learned my lesson on the Star Wars vinyl box which was...
