Re: Starmus Festival @ Bratislava, Slovakia - 12-17 May 2024

Unfortunately I cannot get excited for this performance considering it's just going to be another 'look at me kids, I'm relevant' performance where Jean-Michel thinks he is a modern EDM artist completely ignoring his entire back catalogue in favour of his recent EDM phase/re-workings of a few of his...

Re: R.I.P Sylvain Durand

RIP Sylvain. I cannot believe that two of JMJ's '80s/'90s band members have died in the space of one week. At least we have the memories of their amazing contributions to music/JMJ's live performances. Such a sad week in the Jean-Michel Jarre family.

Oh no, such sad news. RIP Domino, you were a fantastic musician that brought life and spontaneity to Jean-Michel’s work. Very sad news indeed.

Re: About that EiC Countdown on JMJ Social Media

I'm glad that I'm not the only one that started noticing all of the EiC posts that Jean-Michel has been posting on his social media accounts. I hope that it is something more than nostalgia. If my dreams come true then it'll either be a remastered release of a concert film, a new tour announcement o...

Re: Dominique Perrier - Jarre's 3rd Amazing collaborator

I’m hoping and praying that he gets better and makes a full recovery soon. Any updates in the future would be appreciated

Re: The next opus

Whatever he chooses to put out next (a new album or a sequel album) I just hope it’s a little more melodic. For me Oxymore was a giant miss and I just cannot stand listening to it (but others seem to love it). He can continue with this modern EDM style he has appropriated however I just want someth...

Re: In memoriam GeeJee

Oh no. I'm really sorry to hear this, it's absolutely heartbreaking. I have struggled with my mental health for years now and have attempted to end my life once before, so I know how unbearable life can seem under the black cloud of depression. Whilst I only really conversed with him through various...

Re: Peter Gabriel (Solo)

I've seen him two times live, one was the Growing Up tour, the other was the Still Growing Up tour. Quite surprised there's an album coming, after so many years. Last time I heard about it was last year when producer Stephen Hague was being interviewed by a music related youtube-channel who had tak...

Peter Gabriel (Solo)

Are there any Peter Gabriel fans on this forum? Peter Gabriel is often (unfairly) overlooked when it comes to electronic musicians however he has a long history of using synths, samplers (he was among the first musicians to use a Fairlight CMI) and digital production. For me, his third & fourth ...

Re: Oxymore album, october 21 2022

Just finished my first listen of the new record. I hate to say it, but I'm really underwhelmed. It's not bad per se however there is nothing memorable about the record at all. I frequently found myself thinking "this is a good tech demo/experiment but as an album of music it isn't doing much fo...

Re: Melancolique Rodeo - English text release?

It's such a shame that the english version hasn't happened yet. When the book was announced I was really looking forward to getting a copy but I can't see it happening now. I did attempt to make a few email enquiries regarding a potential timetable for the english release however I never received a ...

I really hate to be a negative person, but I'm a little fed up of this 'look at me kids, I'm cool too!' phase/era.

Re:

Hi Pete, Thanks for sharing your music. I'm slowly and surely listening through the tracks you shared, and I really like what you do! I understand your nervousness in sharing your music and getting criticism in the progress. In that respect you have nothing to be afraid of. I know myself it's hard ...

I have recently downloaded the app and I must say that initial impressions are really positive and I am quite impressed with Jean-Michel has achieved here. I hope that the app is updated in the future with additional musical options/variations to make it a truly infinite album. Really impressed so f...
