Welcome to the new BlahBlahCafe!

A new server, a new environment. Updated and all.

As with every migration, some things might have been lost in translation (at least, that's my experience in software development). The main problem is logging in into the boards. These could be caused by several reasons:

- Your browser cache & cookies need to be cleared because we moved to a new server. If you get the error message whilst logging: "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again.", you need to clear your cache & cookies. You can find a "Delete cookies" option at the bottom of this page.

- There is also a chance that your password is not correctly converted to the new system. This is a known bug with migrating the system. The only solution is to request a new password, there's a link on the form that will send an email to you to create a new password. If that fails, I can set a password for you, you can contact us at the "Contact us" link at the bottom of the page.

If I was an artist with albums containing flatten out sound mixes like that however I wouldn't feel safe for one second. Absolutely Velodynamic. The ironic / maddening / infuriating thing here is that CD and digital have the capability to better than vinyl if mastered properly. Listen to Mike Oldfi...

Having to rip the vinyl isn't even the biggest problem. The biggest problem here is that one will not get the best possible quality this way due to inherent flaws of the vinyl playback :( Beats me why there's no proper (be it 96/24 or 48/24) "luxury" download release of the "better m...

So what about this "better" vinyl master, is it digital from the beginning before it becomes a vinyl record? How come we don't have direct access to download that one instead of the brick wall squashed shite? It is better, not "better". I wish I could answer your question, as I ...

When you digitize a vinyl with flat or compressed brick wall sound mix it will appear as more dynamic because the software detects all the pops and scratches as more details and musical information which it "thinks" belongs to the musical mix, however in reality all it is is just added vi...

Vinyl sounds better than CD / digital precisely because it can't be brick walled to the same extent - the damn stylus would skip off the platter. It's better by default. A well mastered CD can sound amazing. A 24 bit Hi Res download or SACD / DVD-A mastered properly will knock any other format off t...

Oxygène 3 = DR10 (by privileging this version your ears will say thank you  ) * : It's the 3rd remastering of Oxygene (1-6) by David Dadwater aka D. Perreau.. (2011 = DR7 / 2015 = DR6 / 2016 = DR9) Exactly what I've done - ripped Oxygene 3 from vinyl at 24 Bit/96kHz - burned it to BLU Ray ...

Jote wrote: So there's definitely different editing giving us approx 6 seconds extra of the slow part. And more "Ethnicolor" is always good!

I would call it "alternate" rather than "incorrect".
I've always thought the same - and said so on the long departed Jarre.com forum :D

Funny thing about Oxygene 16 - I've read a decent amount of reviews and most of them (not all, but MOST) - no matter positive or negative - don't seem to acknowledge its existence. I wonder why. Probably because it sits right in between the very dark, angular 15 (my favourite) and 17 the most melod...

That's one way looking at it, but it all depends on what you are after - if you are after "melodic JMJ" (like me) then you'll likely consider O17 a "stronger" track of the bunch. I see your point, Jote. 17 is a strong track in the Oxygene style, absolutely. I love JMJ's darker s...
