I said AIR songs SHOULD be sung by females instead of males, not the other way around.
:oops2:

You know sometimes my mind is not where it was suppose to be.

Ok, then I agree that we disagree. Love those vocoders...but even more when it's instrumental.

Totally agree. I never liked the songs on Moon Safari with Beth Hirsch.

1.Korg Oasys- Say no more you can't understands its glory unless you've used one for a While,to most it perhaps looks like an overpriced rompler(Sequencer Kind of lets its down as complete workstation),but sound qualities and interface and features are second to none. I tried one a few days ago. Ev...

That was very cheap compared to the pricetag of a Minimoog!
It's also pretty cheap in compare to what the cost brand new today.

But...the economy has changed since then. How much is £1000 in 1970 value worth today?

which can be connected to synthesizers or internally to Kraftwerk's DIYed drum synths. Kraftwerk used ordinary rhythmboxes AFAIK (Vox Percussion King & Farfisa Rhythm Unit 10). Those were blended with percussive sounds from their synths. They modified the boxes with individual trig in for all t...

Why his father should pay for synths? I tought he left to USA... Those synths weren't cheap and by that time Jarre was a student (student = broke). Maybe he rented them - I don't know. I don't know either why Maurice would pay for those - maybe because he had the money and also because he lived in ...

I still wonder if his dad paid for the EMS-gear on the first pic... Second pic is my personal favorite. Not to much gear - but good gear. He looks so focused. ARP2600, EMS Synthi A, Mellotron, Farfisa Professional and the EKO Computerhythm. Man, I wouldn't be leaving that studio for a looooong while...

Even though he might have used the Eminent - that sound could have been made with any other of his synths. Nothing is proved IMO until somebody makes a demo of the said sound from the Eminent. btw: Yamaha CS60 was probably used for the sliding portamento sounds on Equinoxe 1. They have a CS:ish feel...

Re: a few intriguing Jarre moments and instruments...

brass lead in Oxygen 8: Nord Lead is my guess. It would surprise if this was made with the Eminent. I didn't find any sound close to that when I played an Eminent. sequence at the start of Equinoxe 4: My guess would also be the ARP2600. Just because I'm bored I have to say that most of Oxygene 7-13...

Buy! That's my advice. This is my favorite VA because this is the only one that actually sounds pretty analog.
It looks like shit though --- but I guess that's subjective.

Regarding your Juno it sounds weird. I thought it was one of the most reliable analogue synths. I think that I had bad luck with my Juno 60. I guess that they are pretty reliable because you seldom hear about broken Juno 6/60. quote] Juno 60s are realible however are notorious for the battery going...

I have also had that problem with one of my old ones. It fixed itself in a strange way.
Electro Harmonix boxes sound so darn good but they have no construction quality.

I recently bought the DVD from Minimum Maximum. Really amazing stuff and it sure brought back some memories from Arvika where I saw them a couple of years ago.
The video backdrops for Vitamin and Radioactivity are my big favorites.
