Welcome to the new BlahBlahCafe!

We have migrated to a new server. As with every migration, some things might have been lost in translation (at least, that's my experience in software development). The main problem is logging in into the boards. These could be caused by several reasons:

- Your browser cache & cookies need to be cleared because we moved to a new server. If you get the error message whilst logging: "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again.", you need to clear your cache & cookies. You can find a "Delete cookies" option at the bottom of this page.

- There is also a chance that your password is not correctly converted to the new system. This is a known bug with migrating the system. The only solution is to request a new password, there's a link on the form that will send an email to you to create a new password. If that fails, I can set a password for you, you can contact us at the "Contact us" link at the bottom of the page.

Some of those estimates seems to be pretty spot on, others not. My French isn't that strong, does this forum state their sources?

Concerts in China : 1 million at best Well that's just depressing... He is just guessing. The sales for Rendez-Vous are way off, because that album sold enough to chart at #52 in the US. In 1986, that meant several million copies sold. RV also charted for almost a year in the UK. So once again we h...

Yeah... I kind of want a more unbiased source than record company promotion :) Maybe as a Journalist you could do some research at IFPI , RIAA or similar and give us then better and more reliable data than Wikipedia or Dreyfus Records .... I have, and I can't find anything that verifies 80 m...

How about the low chart positions ? No.41 in the UK. Not good, especially when the Electronica albums went top 10. But it's no major surprise. People I know thought the Electronica albums were interesting and highly enjoyable (Vol 1 more so than 2) but they are think Oxy 3 is dull and uninsp...

Not to beguin a discussion but you mention the "80 millions" albums sold like a lot of other articles : i've never found how this number could have been reached... The english Wikipedia article about JMJ says Dreyfus Records has stated this quantity in 2004: https://web.archive.org/web/20...

The rest of the track is the strongest piece JMJ has ever created in centuries. It's amazing what a few long minor chords can do to a person emotionally. You know, I like Oxygene 20, but to be honest, I don't find it *that* amazing, as some folks are talking here. It's okay. It has a nice chord seq...

My interview with Jean-Michel Jarre in Brussels

Here's an English translation of the interview I did with Jean-Michel Jarre before the gig in Brussels. I've also included a lot of stuff not present in the version that was printed in Dagbladet, one of Norway's biggest newspapers. You can read the interview in my blog -> http://domino.elfworld.org/...

Jarre is to thank for Mike Oldfield's upcoming album

So, not only do we have Jarre to thank for three great albums in the past 15 months. We can also thank him for the upcoming album by one of my other favourites, Mike Oldifled. In the latest issue of Prog, which includes interviews with Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Kraftwerk AND The Orb(...

Just gave the vinyls a listen again, and I didn't dream it. The end of Oxygene 9 is incredibly bad. It just cuts off, right where Oxygene 10 is supposed to start. It's amazingly amateurish. Can you record a short snippet? Here -> https://www.dropbox.com/s/9uql6zyie0jckyo/oxygene9.m4a?dl=0 I swear, ...

Pardon me but when has he blamed Sony for the extreme loudness? I must have missed that. It's what JMJ said according to Elf who published an interview with him in a Norwegian newspaper. ;) src: http://www.zoolook.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6622&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=180 "Oh...

It is especially evident for instance in Oxygene 9 between 2:40 and 2:50. Strange: I do not hear any pops/cracks in Oxygene 9, even not between 2:40 and 2:50. I'm listening to the 48kHz/24bit Trilogy-files from Qobuz, on a Mac with Audirvana+ via good Headphones. I haven't any complaints either aft...
