Welcome to the new BlahBlahCafe!

Currently, we are experiencing some DNS problems. We hope to fix this as soon as possible.

We have migrated to a new server. As with every migration, some things might have been lost in translation (at least, that's my experience in software development). The main problem is logging in into the boards. These could be caused by several reasons:

- Your browser cache & cookies need to be cleared because we moved to a new server. If you get the error message whilst logging: "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again.", you need to clear your cache & cookies. You can find a "Delete cookies" option at the bottom of this page.

- There is also a chance that your password is not correctly converted to the new system. This is a known bug with migrating the system. The only solution is to request a new password, there's a link on the form that will send an email to you to create a new password. If that fails, I can set a password for you, you can contact us at the "Contact us" link at the bottom of the page.

I would still like to know, on a whole, what the MC-808 is like as a machine. Check out the videos on Rolandus.com they are the most basic. Thanks Jakob, but I have already seen the one that was filmed at NAMM. Good little video, but doesn't really give the machine much credit. I think it's a reall...

Hi all, I think this thread is drifting away from what it was ment to be. I actually posted these sounds because I think they sound cool and, being a MC-808 owner now, I am happy (or proud?) to know that they contributed to the rhythmic power of T&T album. I don't think T&T is a MC-808 demo;...

Roland MC808 vs. JMJ debate

Hi all, Last Saturday I found in a shop an ex-demo MC-808 which was in real like-new condition (like the plastic film on the display, all the original packaging, etc.) I was really tempted by many of its features described in the Sound on Sound review and, of course, also by its contribution (I supp...

Well...the price seems a bit out of any market. But I admit it's fascinating. Isn't it that spaceship we see in the IV Rendez-Vous videoclip? I loved that video, it was the first time I saw JMJ on TV, back in 1986. Looking at the pics posted by Nico seems like an archaeological find discovered... P.

Just listened to Pete's demos... Can I share them here, Pete ? They are AWESOME !!! Are these sounds only from the VP or from the K2000 too ? Of course you can share these sounds if you like. These were just some live recorded presets from my K2000R. All K2000s can have the same sounds. The VP vers...

I'd avoid the Mark II. Look for the Serial one which looks very similar to the USB.

If you don't need it to be an USB interface you can look to the MOTU MIDI Timepiece AV SERIAL. It's the same interface except for the USB connection replaced by the older serial connector. You can find it in eBay quite cheap compared to the USB native version. The front panel just differs for the th...

Roland A-880

I owned for several years a good old Roland A-880 and I sold it for 80 euros in trade for a Roland MKS-30. I have to say it's a very straightforward patchbay; if you don't need a computer, just a patchbay to avoid long chains in MIDI THRU, well it does its job. It is a breeze to assign input and out...
