Welcome to the new BlahBlahCafe!

We have migrated to a new server. As with every migration, some things might have been lost in translation (at least, that's my experience in software development). The main problem is logging in into the boards. These could be caused by several reasons:

- Your browser cache & cookies need to be cleared because we moved to a new server. If you get the error message whilst logging: "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again.", you need to clear your cache & cookies. You can find a "Delete cookies" option at the bottom of this page.

- There is also a chance that your password is not correctly converted to the new system. This is a known bug with migrating the system. The only solution is to request a new password, there's a link on the form that will send an email to you to create a new password. If that fails, I can set a password for you, you can contact us at the "Contact us" link at the bottom of the page.

Pictures of Jarre's studio

Are there any pics of Jarre's studio around - I only know of perhaps 3 or 4?

Interesting, these topics are.

I wonder if even Jarre himself would be able to remember how certain tracks were made after all these years. As for seeing equipment on stage , I am not sure if this is a reliable indicator due to the amount of miming he has done.

Re: Oxygene 4 - Project D cover & 1989 TV Theme Version?

Sorry I can't answer your question but was it also used for 'Tommorrow's World' ?

Absolutely adore the Nordlead 2 keyboard I have. Certainly more authentic sounding than the JP8000 which has a thinner, plasticy sound to my ears. I also prefer it to my Waldorf Q which is an awkward and very deep synth despite its zillion knobs on the panel. Wonder if the Virus beats them all - nev...

Re: Geometry Of Love And Sessions 2000

Since Oxygene 7-13, I have eagerly awaited Jarre's next album and been thoroughly dissapointed with them all. I thought Sessions was pathetic and G O l boring. Will he ever return to making big vibrant synthesizer albums that reflect his true ability instead of buying the latest mainstream toys and ...

Thanks for that. Having just listened to their sound demos, I don't think we are missing anything.

Jarrelook??

Whilst scanning the internet some time ago, I came across Jarrelook. They did live shows playing Jarre's music ( ish ). Anyone know what happened to them or if they were at all successful?

Re: The best synths for realistic acoustic instruments sound

Yamaha VL1 and VP1. Both superb physical modelling synths of acoustic instruments - some sounds are astonishing.
EXPENSIVE. The VL 1 retailed at £4000 and the VP1 I think went at around £10000! Both were produced in limited numbers.

Can't wait for your Chronologie 4. With regards to Equinoxe 5 the only fault is a bit too much humm noise and the thunder effect is a bit loud and high pitch. But otherwise spot-on. Could I also request and Equinoxe 5 - Equinoxe 6 - Equinoxe 7(1st part) cover? lol I have those parts - through to th...

Some excellent covers there, love your Equinoxe 5. At last a decent RV4 cover too... although the drums need to be more prominent and less mini-pops, and I don't personally like fade-out endings. But otherwise, really good :-) Oxygene 2 - perfect! Hope that's kind of constructive feedback. Do some ...

If you watch the video footage of Equinoxe 5, Jarre is seen flitting from one keyboard to another playing the main melody ( as is Perrier ) and then the bass line - only when his fingers play in time to the bassline, he hits 2 notes together. The bass is a mono line. Not real playing there. Anyway, ...

Brilliant, you guys really fill the thread with substance. If you watch the 1990's Oxygene tour and Moscow videos, the oxy 4 'RMI' lead is apparantly played by Jarre on the Nordlead 2 - as is my solo. By memory, it sounds pretty spot-on. Are we therefore to assume it was programmed perfectly on the ...

In your opinion guys, what other sounds do you feel are the most difficult to replicate ? I reckon the oxy 4 RMI solo - what's your verdict on mine and where else do you think I might be failing? http://www.mattsynth.co.uk/jean-michel-jarre/ It's easy to get stuck in the middle of your own music and...
