With all the performing Jarre has been doing of late, surely we could expect an official DVD at some point?

Would love to see it happen but I am afraid it won’t.

But if he release a live registration I hope it will also be available on Blu-ray with 5.1 sound

From https://MontrealGazette.com/entertainme ... s-montreal - May 4, 2017:

JMJ about Electronica: "I like to call it ‘3D without the glasses’,” he said. “It’s a real 3D experience, created by layers of LED screens. Most concerts nowadays, you can go on YouTube and watch videos that more or less show you what the stage looks like. You might see some videos of this show online, but you won’t quite get the proper result. I’m not even going to release a Blu-ray or DVD, because so far we haven’t found a way to film it properly.”

The closest we get for a proper release of the Electronica tour are the Spain concert last year and Coachella earlier this year.

Looks like the image quality is not good enough - too dark.

He hasn't closed the door completely for a future kind of "best of" Blu-Ray of his concerts. I think he said he would like to do that when time exists.

They were recorded on Beta, no matter what you do with that footage, it'll always be a mess. Shame that they decided to not shoot these on film, would've looked mindblowing these days at 4k remastered.

Video quality aside, it's a shame that even a release like "full audio versions of classic JMJ concerts" will never take place. :\

(For one, JMJ wouldn't allow the unedited live version of Calypso 2 @ PLD to ever be officially released)
