Modifying the Small Stone?

I have the russian model of the Electro-Harmonix Small Stone Phaser, the same thing Jarre uses (The little store had a VERY old one altso, maybe the original Jarre used?)

It sound totally right, I used it in the end of the song I made for this video:
Oasis

But does anyone here know, if it can be modified so the speed can be controlled via MIDI )
Maybe Jarre did this, so it was controlled from the clock of the Matrisequencer or ARP2600 ??

I haven't ever heard about a midified version of small stone (for JMJ of course), and i don't really see why he would done such a thing.

The thing you have to know is....everything is mod/midifiable !!! A lot of MIDI controller board are on the market, so if you plan to do it, you can do it, it's technically possible.

Just a question, why doing such a torture like that to the poor small tone ?

its impossible to midify smallstone (!!?? what for?) you can add some functions to it like dry/wet pot, feedback, diffrent freq sweeps... but not midi

To control the speed more precise!
It is almost impossible to set the speed, so it follows a song, it would be much easier it it was more controled.

I understand where you're coming from, but I'm not sure whether or not the lfo sweep is exactly in sync with the tempo of any of jmjs tracks. I think that would sound too clinical.

I think it's easier to turn the speed knob until it exactly follows the song, than trying to calculate the exact voltage value that should correspond with the midi value of the signal.
There's no such thing as a digital clock or pulse generator going on in that thing, just an analog oscillator that shifts the time intervals between two audio signals. That goes in millivolts and milliseconds.

Well I'm not that much into it, but I found a voltage that slowly raises og falls in "sync" with the speed, putting an Oscillocope on it, makes it easier to find the right point.

In the youtube video I posted, I'd like to have the high part of the sound just the right place when changing chords, so I started the strings when the oscilloscope was in the right place.

No I don't think Jarre's Small Stone is in sync, that is ok when he was the first to play the song, no mater what it is always right ) ...But when we try to replicate, it is more difficould.

BTW. Try to listen at the Small Stone in Oxygene 9, it is cutted several places, and not in sync. In Oxygene and Equinoxe, it is played in one piece.
