Welcome to the new BlahBlahCafe!

A new server, a new environment. Updated and all.

As with every migration, some things might have been lost in translation (at least, that's my experience in software development). The main problem is logging in into the boards. These could be caused by several reasons:

- Your browser cache & cookies need to be cleared because we moved to a new server. If you get the error message whilst logging: "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again.", you need to clear your cache & cookies. You can find a "Delete cookies" option at the bottom of this page.

- There is also a chance that your password is not correctly converted to the new system. This is a known bug with migrating the system. The only solution is to request a new password, there's a link on the form that will send an email to you to create a new password. If that fails, I can set a password for you, you can contact us at the "Contact us" link at the bottom of the page.

I remember that Robi (I think) in here had that album cover as avatar, so when I found out that it was a Tangerine Dream album not so long ago, I tried to find some snippets. Sadly that didn't work well as the tracks on that album, like many other are so long that you don't get a clear impression of the track.
But now as you mention it, it must be worth checking out. Some of those albums can be found for not much, so I might just buy some.

Yes, i had that avatar for a while.
Force Majeure is a great album, i found the whole album uploaded on a site but the sound quality is not the best.
The title track is a materpiece and some of its extracts were used for soundtrack of Risky Business back in 1983. Fits prefecty for the love scene. :D
Cloudburst Fly is 'just' great. I don't know the last track too much...

Also i don't know latest albums of TD, but some says these albums turned to worldwusic more or less.

Optical Race is my overall favorite TD album, esp. "Mothers of Rain".
"The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul."
-Johann Sebastian Bach, 1685-1750

You can listen to whole tracks of their new stuff on http://www.tangerinedream-music.com

I like some of it, but as you mentioned some of it is much like worldmusic, and to some degree very new age sounding and acoustic.

So the videos of the Poland track on youtube was out of sync. This one is a lot better and 30 minutes long:

This one is also pretty cool. Live video of Barock 3 1976. Very minimalistic in the beginning.

That actually features a solo by J. Schmoelling I don't remember being on the album... pretty nifty! :D

Yes I was also positively surprised. There seem to be a few differences from the album, so I think the album release was edited or something. When Schmölling begins to play that PPG wood square-like lead, there is a gap after the first note on the album, which is not in the video. If you know what I mean :P

EDIT: I just got confused, I suppose you mean the Poland video or no? :pwned:

I picked up their 'Dream Sequence' album the other day. My first TD album.

One of my first "albums" aswell. A 'best of' of their quality period. Just as shame that a track like 'Force Majeure' is cut. The full length version is double as good :fine: So go get the 'Force Majeure' album. Force Majeure and Cloudburst Flight are two of their best composed tracks IMO.

Btw. listen to 'White Eagle' (the track)... It clearly shows that they used the Emulator sampler (even thought it's also seen on some studio pics). Did anybody say first part of Ethnicolor? :P
