Heres a really old Version of Oxygene 12 I did way back in 1997,the quality is pretty crap,as it was just recorded direct to an old 8 track Reel to Reel recorder I had back then I then just recorded the tape to CD For this Audio,so apologise it if its not pristine up to your CD or MP3 format audio listening quality, its a recording of a recording :? ...

Instruments used(what i can remember):

Korg Trinity
Boss DR660
Akai SG01V
Nord Lead 1

Oooooooh. Only one word: WOW! Nice sequence (cool that variation at 3:35), nice effects, nice rhythm, nice song. Maybe a little stronger laser-bass-lead?

Neat ! Very !

ps. I am always impressed when such excellent work is put into the music interpretation
yet such lazy / lame work on the drums programming
... a mismatch

I will put fills in where applicable, this track was a cover so no need to add fills seeing as it was trying to stay true to the original

Infact the only album track that has proper fills on 07-13 Is part 13!!!Yes I said in the past his Drum tracks lack creative programming in some tracks, thats why the Live version sound better with Real drumming

Your interpreation of the dums programming would have / might have been better than the original ...
I'm only quoting your views on drums on JMJs tracks

If it was for a live performance then yes I would put more emphasis on the drum programming.I was trying to stay faithful to the original,so didn't over egg the drums just created what was needed to replicate it

Its a cover / interpretation ... so you can as you say, do whatever you want on it.
Just that you could have improved upon JMJ's drum programming
... which he himself admitted was lazy on most of oxy7-13.

ps. Neat ! Very! (as I wrote earlier).

Yes I do feel that Jarre does lack variation in drums fills most of the time, when you hear the programming on Revolutions, his other loop based stuff sounds too static.but again its a matter or perception,Jarre paints a picture with sounds, drum fills and variation dont seem to be suited that much in his studio works except within a few concepts, revolutions works because of the sound scape he paints which relys heavily on processed drums...
Its like getting a painter to add more red ,when it probably need more blue, when you add it it upsets the balance and takes away the simplicity of it

But again, look at his variations in Live perfomance on the Drum front,It works because its more natural for live performance, that adds more feel to his music.
