He says that he want to perform the Oxygene concert in Copenhagen next year. He also says that he is planning a tour at smaller places around in Europe.

Nah perhaps by train or ferry. First I'll put cold water to my blood and wait untill it's a little more reality. This is just one of JMJ's "wish" projects, however it's maybe a little easier to make a tour like this than a huge concert. Let's see what is going to happen.

Is this really "ontopic"?? :nico: :punch:

I must say the information at the on-line stores in my country about these dvd boxes, are the most confusing I've ever seen.
They talk about "deluxe" editions and 3 or 4 'cd' editions a.s.o.
It's like they're competing about who can give the most rediculous info's.
This also makes it impossible for me to pre-order the 3-D CD+DVD box set from any of these shops. :|
I'll have to wait until they really know what'da heck they're selling.

According to JarreUK's SoF forum, the clip on JMJ's MySpace page, and (I assume) the radio edit are from the New Master Recording.

Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells 2003, which was a re recording with new instruments, sounded quite different (and inferior) to the original.

The 2007 Oxygene is a re recording from the original score, using the original analogue instruments, but it's recorded, mixed and mastered digitally. It should sound better than the original, but not necessarily different.

- SoF quote -

FDM own the ORIGINAL RECORDING copyrights to JMJs back catalogue up to Metamorphoses

JMJ owns the ORIGINAL COMPOSITION (score) copyrights to his work

FDM can only release the original recordings on CD (including 24bit remasters) hence why the latest Complete Oxygene has "Original Recordings" tagged slap bang on the front of the cover

JMJ therefore has to re-record NEW recordings (aka the new Oxygene coming out) or re-work (aka AERO) in order to release his own material. Live versions of the tracks, which are usually re-worked, come into this also

The Oxygene 4 you hear on MySpace is from the re-recorded version, but bear in mind he's not "done a mike oldfield" and made the album sound new and fresh using different instruments, otherwise that would be a re-working along the lines of AERO. He's stuck to the original compositional material and scores and just re-recorded the entire album. So although it may sound the same (which it should, because it's just re-recorded), there IS a slight difference as you can tell there's a slight more depth and bass to it if you listen carefully....

- end quote -

Also, I don't think FDM would allow JMJ to promote the 2007 Oxygene release with 'their' 1976 Oxygene recording :D
