As Feffeli said- I also link it with the creation of the universe, step by step

The second image (especially listening to part 4)- conquering the cosmos.

RV 1- great, and I find it very good track to "open" the album

RV 2- just love it! It's a masterpiece :!:

RV 3&5- good, but not as so 1,2,6

RV 4- one of the most known Jarre's tracks and one of the first I heard

RV 6 (Ron's piece)- great...it has special meaning because ofthe history which it's linked with...

Nikola Karabatic tells "Fourth Rendez-vous" by Jean-Michel Jarre

He is a legend of tricolor sport, the best player in the history of French handball. At 40, he has already won 4 medals at the Olympics, including 3 in gold. At the microphone of Frédéric Pommier, Nikola Karabatik evokes "Fourth Rendez-vous" by Jean-Michel Jarre, a piece that he associates with his father's memory.

😍 What a lovely story 😍

A childhood music, linked to his father

Nikola Karabatic: "It's important to me because it corresponds to, I think, my first musical memory as a child. I think I must have been around 4 years old maybe. It's a musical memory linked to sport, to my sport, handball, and to my dad who was my idol. So the memory corresponds to when my father came from the former Yugoslavia to France, to Strasbourg. He played for ASL Robertsau, which was a club from Strasbourg. And when he entered the field, the club did a show with the lights off, a big sheet where he projected photos of the players. And it was to this music that he entered the field. It's stayed with me since childhood, this music, as soon as I listen to it again, I have a whole bunch of emotions that come up."

A few months ago, there were complaints from fans reporting that RV-2, from the album Rendez Vous, had disappeared from music platforms (Deezer, Spotify, Apple Store, Amazon Music, etc)...

Now the full album has disappeared without any reason... What's going on? It's one of the artist's most popular albums!!!

Checked Deezer and it's gone there as well and on Qobuz you can't purchase it either anymore. Odd situation that the album has been removed.
It was a ghastly remaster, so not much of value was lost anyway, but that's besides the point.

Maybe Simon Jensen flagged it as copyright infringement :>

Or he has recently discovered the weak remaster of Perreau and it gets a new remaster... :)

Still up on Deezer and Qobuz, so unsure what's going on there.

Can you imagine this actually being the case? They messed up the remaster, redid the remaster only for doing it a third time. Honestly, they'd deserve an awards for this incompetence :P

While it would be a nice effort, the badly-remastered Planet Jarre LPs/CDs and cassettes are still out there ;)

Rendez-vous is one of my favorite albums. I am also wondering why it is not longer available on Apple Music.

Feffeli wrote: Sun Apr 23, 2006 5:06 pm While Equinoxe was the creation and growth of Earth, Rendez-Vous is the creation and development of the Universe itself.
In part one, the universe fades into existence out of darkness, becoming a warm glow that slowly forms into the first star...
Part two is more stars forming, surging around as if in a great ocean, forming whirlpools and flows, the galaxies, nebulae, and so on.
Part three is the silence between the stars, sad yet beautiful.
Part four is when life begins to emerge.
Part five is the rapid expansion phase of space travel. It starts out with a few ships dancing lazy circles around the planets of their home system, then lonely wanderings between the stars, and then when life of different planets meets and shares their resources, things take off!
Part six is... It's a lament. In this new universe, will we ever truly be able to return to our roots?
This is wonderful.

Also how JMJ named them First Rendezvous Second Rendevous Third Fourth Fifth Sixth Rendevous is so evocative.

JMJ changing the naming from Oxy, Equi, MagF titles just this simple change in Rendevous.

The youtube-er says "....covering the 8th - and 1986 - studio album by electronic musician".....so you can really guess it will be this very album. ;) ;)
