Howling sound in Ethnicolor

I have listened the AOR yesterday and you are right - it was used at AOR (excerpt 5). It has been re-freshed for Zoolook album only

As we're talking late 1960's here, I guess that rules out any form of digital effects or digital sample processing. :)

People at the time couldn't guess that... :) Cause very few heard AOR anyway.

...or not. It had nothing to do with sampling, and it wasn't playback, as you could hear Christine's voice :smoke:

Why dont someone take the audio, reverse it and play it back at normal speed?. Surely that would give a better idea to what it is.

Sound 1 (reversed only)
I think we can say it's an human voice, a cry or a kind of scream.
A plenty of reverb, or pre-delay + reversed : so on start of Ethnicolor, we ear the reverb queue or pre-delay first before the sample.

Sound 2 (pitched up 3 semitones)
It looks like a child cry, not a baby, more a child. Without being pitched it's also looks like a child cry.

Sorry I can't open and listen to the sound from the file which is posted..

But a long time ago..I did read that sounds in Ethicolor I is sounds from the whales...here you can listen to some whales singing... :fine:

Listening to Zoolook and wonder why it failed commercially???? I mean it didnt chart at all :shock: compared to earlier or later albums it was a disaster. Cousteau and Chronologie followed this way later but come on Zoolook is something everyone agrees is great work.

It's "bizarre"....it works fine for me....

Anyone else has the problem ?
