Very strange....but if Michel Geiss say it, so why wouldn't it be true....

Technicalyy, i don't see how Dolbly could afect the 2 different mix i know of equinoxe 5, there is certainly something that i've missed

I don't want to say something that Michel Geiss never said.

I'm saying two things :
- Equinoxe mix down sound not good on analog media with Dolby. Jarre & Geiss decided to not use Dolby although cover were printed for Cassette. It is the truth.
- I have an open question about the fact that we maybe have both pressing with Dolby and not Dolby which is the result of differents sounds.

I'm not saying that is the clue of two differents sounds, it is only a supposition.

I'm not sound engineer, but maybe that different processes that were used to remove the noise or something else for the pressing, have as result different signal levels.

Mmmm......what you've jsut said has make me think.....

Phase inversion/offset/delay ? Phase problems due to Dolby or/and use of tape ? A phase difference could affect some sound Level (depending on the original phase of them of course) ?

It's just a supposition too...if anyone could put a light on it.

My tape recorder as Dolby B and C for record and playback. It's certainly not as good as the DBNR found on professional recorder, but why don't get a try ?

On the original Equinoxe 5, there are some odd bass notes (?) that starty at 02.38.

What's happening there, are they flourishes in the bass sequence or over-dubs from another sound?

I have programmed them into my bass line starting at 00.09.

I think he just plays it wrong, and the legato makes the strange sound.

The bass is played the same way as Eq7 bass, with the Matrisesequencer doing the pattern and the key and modulation played on the keybord.

It's tricky to change to the next key on the first beat, why he also misses it several times in Eq7.

I have just heard it on my own computer in Audition, and I am pretty sure it's just som lower sounds in the previous effekt, the bass playes right

Yes, that's the latest notes of the F and C arpeggio effect

I am not convinced it's just the last notes of the previous arpeggios, the same sound most likley, but the notes are different.
