Glco8284 brought to my attention that the Concert for Tolerance NRK TV broadcast and the laserdisk have different shots for some of the songs. The NRK broadcast is missing the first three songs though. I do have a VHS with an (incomplete) TF1 broadcast (incomplete, because the last 3 tracks were missing, my recording reached the end of the tape, long story). So I digitized the TF1 VHS and combined this and the NRK broadcast to have a complete TV broadcast as "b-roll" to the laserdisk "a-roll".
Some tracks are completely the same on both versions, but there's some interesting differences throughout the concert edits.
Some important things that occured to me comparing both the recordings: the laserdisk is not a complete recording! I noticed that at some point, both the video streams were out of sync. Turns out that that happened when you had to turn over the laserdisk from side A to side B
The TV broadcast continues where the laserdisk has a fade out and a fade in. Second thing that was cut was 20 seconds before Band in the Rain. There's only audience shots.
The TV broadcast doesn't have the speech at the end which is on the laserdisk. I couldn't check if the TF1 broadcast has it, since my recording stopped before this moment.
Anyway, here's a list of differences:
The intro:
Obviously different. The TV broadcast is made for TF1, the laserdisk starts with a still of the planes, zooming out.

Overall, some more total shots and less shots on the musicians. There's a cool shot of Guy Delacroix with the Eiffel tower and fireworks in the background that is lost on the LD, but the LD has a better shot of the fireworks.

Added total shots of the Eiffel tower. TV edit has longer shots.

An obvious change: the LD cuts to a total when the paper falls out of the barrel organ (while the music is still playing).

The TV broadcast has a long zoom-out shot which is replaced by a total of the Eiffel tower cutting to a close of JMJ

Almost no change, except for the end which shows the stage, whereas the LD shows the Eiffel tower (note that I now switched to the NRK broadcast)
Eldorado
First few bars of the song (a drum-loop) are cut from the TV broadcast. LD has a total of the audience.
Calypso
No changes
Then JMJ's full speech is on the LD, the TV broadcast has this cut.

And the end titles are obviously different. Interesting detail: the TV broadcast was credited as "A Mike Mansfield production for Channel 4", so Channel 4 probably has some rights on this...
