Hmm, Oxygene 1's bass part would still more or less rank as #1.

In fact, I don't really get chills out of covers/replicas, but even Per Kristian's version gives me some chills at that same part.

As for post-2015 tracks, most "chill-inducing" ones have been Stardust's 1:45-02:15 section most definitely (not helped by someone once commenting 'bout it with something like "that part's so JMJ").

Oh and more or less the entirety of Equinoxe Infinity (movement 10), especially the beginning and the end (especially the "bass drop" - for the lack of a better term - at 2:10).

So many shivers over the years - the very first time I really heard any of his music - watching the BBC broadcast of Rendezvous Houston in '86 - I still vividly remember the chills down my spine all through Rendezvous II - the track that turned me from casual listener (I was only watching it as my brother wanted me to keep an eye on his new VHS deck to be sure it recorded so he could watch it later) to dedicated fan that started buying all the CD's the next day. I still have that VHS tape.

The first tinkle crunch crash that opened Destination Docklands - the concert that so very nearly didn't happen - the official go-ahead for the concert was only a few hours before it started. When it suddenly became clear that Revolutions wasn't going to be just the rather short album version later in the same concert - when everything went quiet as the band got to where the original version ended - except for the drummer keeping time - then after a few beats, Jarre yelled 'Revolution!' into the vocoder, and all hell broke loose with an amazing firework display and the song went round and round (pun intended) another two times, while the crowd went bananas. Completely missing from the live album and TV broadcast.

At the Tolerance gig, when I realised he was playing Ethnicolor live again, and thinking to myself that this track just needs a guitar solo - and there was Patrick Rondat. When this was followed by Industrial Revolution, my feet pretty much left the ground for the rest of the show.

Hearing Electronica 1 for the first time all the way through, and realising Jarre was back after too long an absence, and back with his best album in years. I had something in my eye all the way through. And Electronica 2 was even better.

The delight during the later Electronica tour when I heard a new Jarre track - Oxygene 17 - live for the first time ever - from an album I knew nothing about till that moment. And I've loved it ever since.

Here's hoping for a few more shivers 'On The Other Side' !

Just listening to Ethnicolor thru headphones. Never fails to impress. Always chills at 7'47" when the drums kick in (as Jote says) and then again at 9'21" when the track inexplicably goes "up a gear" from an already high plateau of emotion. From a technical / musical point of view, I have no idea what's going on in the 94 seconds between these two points but it's a total work of art. Just phenomenal.

And yes, played loudly!

Oh yeah, the end of Ethnicolor is magical, a climax of epic (for the lack of a better word) proportions.

Oxygene 20's first notes, that organ sound, gives me chills for other reasons. It sounds so apocalyptic, such a sense of dread.
