OK, so it's been some time after it was released, any solid information why CD1 is 3 minutes shorter than R9?

Seems that most tracks are just cut short by a second or two. Also seems that the original release was compressed to hell and back comparing the two releases.

Thanks, I will be comparing those two soon enough to see if any music was cut. My goal is to record it on 2 cassette tapes (as all 285 songs won't fit on one) and I preffered the uncut ones...

The gaps between the tracks are probably shorter.

Yeah, the actual tracks aren't cut, just the silence at the end.

Has anybody out there listened to all 4 x CDs, in order, one after the other, nonstop? I did on a long car journey in August 2020, for a work trip. Weirdly listenable, even though it's not really designed for that sort of playing. Almost like a game of spot the recurring motif, linking different snippets together in your mind. Every so often, a stonkingly brilliant bit comes along that you just wish could be expanded into a properly structured track.

I think one could make a great continuous mix of some of the longer tracks.

Never gave them all a spin one after another, but I have done each separate disc in one go. There's a couple of really great tracks on the third disc. I'll forever be bothered that Jarre never turned 561 into a full track. It's a great start for a full track, but it's just a loop going for a minute and a half and that's it. I really hope he'll return to this one in particular some day.

Agree CD3 contains the best work and I've just reminded myself about Hexagone 561 - yes, could become something really special.
