Well, that was much more to me, the enthusiastic audience who reacted well to the music, (it reminded me of certain techno evenings that I spent in clubs of a few hundred people and who reacted in the same way and I appreciated)
for the set list the aero repertoire side was appreciable especially oxygen 2 with a different arrangement.
It was full of color in every direction
The only downside, the fact of not being able to appreciate certain visuals which passed too quickly or too far away, to be able to better look at certain characters, robots or other funny monsters in close-up would have been nicer.
I watched the video 4x the energy and the feeling of the concert was good.
Congratulations to the teams of technicians, artists, those from Versailles and JMJ for having worked intensely and professionally to offer us a great time.

Concert review: Versailles 400 by Jean-Michel Jarre (Mixed Reality Concert)

Jarre played it safe. Not only new techno sounds were heard, but also well-known standards. Here is the set list

Visually, I think that this benefits from the Notre-Dame experience (which was a bit repetitive) a lot.
The intro to Oxygene 2 was very nice. And the upbeat numbers were not the rule, unlike the Electronica Tour.
JMJ connecting to a real audience is good news, regarding concerts to come later. When he'll be in open air, he'll better not keep the VR glasses.
The people (of which a few younger only) were standing up from the Zero Gravity to the end.

I enjoyed the show and I admire JMJ’s perseverance with technology and innovation. And VR and ‘metaverse’ just the latest way he’s approached this aspect of his career and his musical brand.

I liked his keyboard set up and the brightly lit touch-screen controllers were very reminiscent of the LAG Grand Master (as used at PLD and EIC) and the LAG “Magic” from Houston/Lyon. So this bit of hardware is very much part of the Jarre brand but updated.

And the concept of a one-man hi-tech show in a classical or baroque setting goes right back to JMJ’s first live performance in 1979 in the Place de la Concorde. One man, crouched over a bank of keyboards, while projections played onto the façades of the Hôtel de Crillon and the Hôtel de la Marine is where the whole JMJ reputation as a live act started. So, there’s been a neat symmetry to seeing a virtual JMJ use the latest technology to perform in the gothic setting of Notre-Dame de Paris and now the Hall of Mirrors at the Château de Versailles.

I don’t think the VR thing will ever become a mainstream way for performer to connect with an audience in the way JMJ claims it will be, but what do I know?

While I admire his approach, my gripe (as shared with plate of chips) is that his musical selection has let both shows down badly. Neither Notre-Dame de Paris nor Hall of Mirrors needs his beat heavy EDM tracks. Delicate, subtle electronica – of which he has plenty to choose from – would be so much better than Zero Gravity (Above & Beyond Remix) and Stardust in these settings. At least we were spared Exit

I must say that I did like the slight reworking of Equinox 7 & Industrial Revolution pt2. The remix of Industrial Revolution pt2 is better than the album version, there is something about the electric guitar accompaniment that really suits the track especially given the distorted guitar sounds in pt3 on the original album.

I’d love to have a proper download of both.

Does Circus, the collaboration between JMJ x Siriusmo, have 'real' lyrics from 2'01" to 2'18"? It's heavily vocodered and I can't tell if there are real lyrics hiding behind that.

Yeah, I was wondering too. I was searching if there was some background info on the original track that maybe fitted the song.

I enjoyed the first of the show, nice to see JMJ revisit some of his traditional tunes.
With regards to Industrial Revolution pt2's comeback. Last I heard of that was at the Indoor Tour in Manchester where, in my opinion, Jarre butchered the solo piece on his keytar. Should have given the role to Dominic Perrier instead. Anyways, this new mix with electric guitar sounds thrown had me thinking, I've heard this before....
