I spoke to Fiona earlier this week with regards to Perth, and there is still hope that it will still happen at some point.
The moving to Melbourne or Sydney is not a real possibility in my mind, I think Maryann was using this statement to shame Perth into getting their act together, plus the fact JMJ and his team have not even considered anywhere else but Perth at the moment.
One thing is certain though, is that JMJ will not be putting on hold his new album to wait for the Perth concert (should it happen of course), and Fiona assured me that JMJ is still looking at a release next year, though no deadline has been set. JMJ is simply doing it at his own pace without any pressure of release dates etc.
Hope this helps, I personally think that a concert will take place, the problem is the financing of the project. Gone are the days of big sponsorship, the state of the world's economy has put an end to this.
