In 2004 Dreyfus released Essential 2004 together with JMJ's Aero.
In 2007 Dreyfus released Oxygene box together with JMJ's Oxygene Live in your livingroom set.
So when JMJ releases rarities, Dreyfus could release old stuff too!
I don't mean to sound disrespectful towards Francis Dreyfus, but the issue Jarre had was with Francis. As he is now longer with us, that issue, I would assume, has been buried with Francis. So Jarre and Dreyfus Music have a clean slate, so to speak.
There must be some positive signs for Jarre for him to go back to Dreyfus music. Hopefully this will be the start (again) of something good.

If this album is under Dreyfus/EMI, then I so think that rarites will mean rare tracks from '76 till 2000....FDM era.

No. FDM had a lot of small record companies. Disques Motors is one of them and a lot of the pre-Oxygene stuff was on Motors. Labrador was also owned by Dreyfus, and that released the 1906 tracks. Les Granges Brulees was Eden Roc, also FDM owned (hence the re-release a few years ago). Also FD "released" Deserted Palace in Europe.

I see. Thank you.

I listened that "Deserted Palace" was not a comercial release album, but a release just for a library of sounds in USA\CANADA and Europe. This library of sounds was used in TVs documentaries.

I know it was madefor TV/Commercials, but as far as I know it has never been used in anything... Although I never saw it appear anywhere outside of the album, it's still possible though

Somewhat childish sure, but they still have all the right's to do so... They are just trying to cash in on the new release, I doubt they do it to challenge a new release

Not exactly. "Deserted Palace" contains tracks composed by JARRE for TV, radio and commercials. It means that part of the music of "Deserted Palace" was used before the LP was released. You can hear "Sports En Fete" music and remains something familiar...

The music has been used on TV
after its release. Not before. It's a record with production music.
It also means, that if you own a copy, you can use the music in your documentary

I second that.

Me too

. Wasnt there some rumor a while back that the rights of these were to be in the control of Jean Michel this year? If that is true then its a real possibility

In the absence of concrete official information - apart from a title - it's not clear if the proposed FDM release is separate to M and R or is M and R an Aero Prod. / FDM collaborative release?

it's a collaboration, someone from Dreyfus explained it.

My personal add:
- M&R double CD (which title is not definitive yet) is through AP/Dreyfus/EMI in/till March.
/ Hope Dreyfus Records do not consider to re-release something paralell , independently from the musician! Hope it is a co-operation by AP/Dreyfus/EMI ! /
- brand new album later ( second half of 2011, if you ask me...) with currently unknown label (I vote for EMI though...)

Thanks to ZZERO on Spanish forum
"I finish receiving direct informción of YOU DIAL DREYFUS, with which I hope are possible to be silenced the rumors and speculations that, if you pay attention well, estan weakening the reality of this launching.
So far the title of the double CD has been changed, will call " Essentials & Rarities". It will be published by DREYFUS, not by EMI. Tracklist not yet is confirmed to the 100%, which yes can be advanced is that the second CD will contain material nonavailable in the market for 40 years. Eye, is not only indicated that all the material has that antiquity, that the CD will include subjects that date from that period of time."

New name for this 2CD release, "Essentials & Rarities", that will be released by DISQUES DREYFUS around April 2011, anyway before June. The second CD includes material not available on records since early 70's.
This double CD won't be released by EMI.
