Not that familiar with EON.

There were supposed to be two parts of BFTF, did you crossfade between them? If so can you upload part 1 and 2 separately?

I don't have the EōN app as I don't have any Apple products - will it ever get an Andriod release? - but I have listened to Snapshots from EōN and the samples that were released for the remix competition. BFTF has a def sense of EōN but also is quite 'watery' as it has lots of Amazônia sounds.

Waiting for the Bratislava show to begin, there was lots of chatter, excitement and build up and I don't remember the watery sounds. The clicks, whirrs and mechanical elements are great though, and set it apart from WTC. And yes, there is a BFTF Pt 1 and BFTF Pt 2. I prefer Pt 2, as it appears to my (poor definition, low-res audio) ears to be a bit more melodic although both part are very similar and I suspect the Pt1/Pt2 is simply about making it fit onto a vinyl disc.

Around the time of the Bratislava show, I recall reading someplace that the pre-concert track (at that time called Blue Dot, I think) included sounds generated by astromical observations, cosmic signals and the like. But unless I've missed it, I can't see any reference to this in any of the pacakaging that comes with the vinyl or any of the other boxset sleeves or artwork.

I got my hands on a CD-rip today and immediately noticed (only checked Oxygene 2 so far) something odd. The crash/noise around 3:45 is much louder than in the broadcast version. Also, while the recording cuts around 16kHz (lossy stream compression) the crash/noise does NOT. It's almost as if it was added in post-production, which begs the question: "why"? Why focus on this particularly instead of improving the overall quality?

Spectrogram for reference - you can clearly see the high frequency cutoff, except for the crash.

(It's not just this crash - throughout the track the fx triggered by JMJ seem louder. I distinctly remember praising the concert for having almost zero of them, yet here they are :P)

I had disgusted by this, when I first analyzed the spectrum of the (overcompressed) stereo master. I suspect (pointless) dadwater post-processing because of the "unlistenable" lossy source.

Yeah, but this is not just post-processing. You can't hear those sounds in the broadcast. It looks like they were mixed in afterwards. So... why not mix in the prerecorded tracks in better quality if they were willing to actually work on the audio material by adding the fx?

That's not everything. In O2 you can hear Adiescar playing the violin near the end (around 6:43). Her part is NOT present in the broadcast. I have a hard time understanding what exactly happened there. Because it's either

1. a different (but still lossy) stream that has Adiescar parts. With FX added in the studio (because of the high frequencies on the FX that are otherwise not present in the stream as shown on the spectrogram)
2. same lossy stream with FX and Adiescar parts added in the studio.

Mind-boggling.

Yes, exactly my questions too.

Good catch, bothered me too that is missing, and I suspect the 1st case.

So for me this "release" was a complete flop with the "single" and obviously remained so.

Just finished listening to this. He mentions a tour linked to Oxygene 50th anniversary, a new album for next year... The Uzbekistan concert is probably 14 november, since he says that the UNESCO conference there will be finished the day before his concert and that's 13 November. Working on the new album starts when he finished editing the Seville concert video.

Maybe it's time we got it a new name then? Maybe just "Zoolook DB"?

There's no crossfade and no music missing. The vinyl fades abruptly at the end of side one, and starts quickly at part two. The split is at 18:51 on the vinyl rip. Literally nothing is missed.

Ok, thanks, that's good to know (in a sense that it's intact, in a sense that it fades abruptly on the vinyl - not so much...)

Digi-Sequencer 1993... is the first concert-only track (if we agree on the Concers in China tracks being studio tracks)
¿can we consider AOR as concert-only tracks?
Ha, good point, I´ve overlooked those. Maybe except for Blue which partly has been released on Planet Jarre...
