Hmmm. This is disturbing. I don't like the idea of JMJ going to Jeruzalem. There is only war hate and believers over there. And those 3 things don't go well together. I propose JMJ should try something safer where there is not such a great risk off getting blown up. If never trusted the Middle-east and I probably never will if they keep it up like this.

If I had 10 minutes with JMJ right now , I would try to convince him not to do it. Why not?? Because he has no bussinis there. There is nothing to gain there. The country is not even beautifull. Please JMJ if you read this I beg of you DON'T do it.

I have looked at Wikipedia (german version): since 1999 Kosovo has the status of an autonomous territory inside the Republic Serbia.
Yeah, doh, I know. But isn't Sarajevo Bosnia's capital?
Yes, that's right, GeeJee. It's an interesting detail: "Koševo" stadium in Sarajevo. But I'm not sure if the name of the stadium "Koševo" has something to do with "Kosovo" - maybe "Koševo" is the name of a famous football player in Bosnia... :punch:

Not a good idea. Its blantantly picking a political side, and thats not a good idea when you're meant to be a goodwill ambassador.

Also, I echo Antigoons sentiment about there not really being anything to celebrate.

Its not Judaism as a religion I'm bashing here. It's Zionism as a concept.

In any case, to return slightly ontopic, I think costs would be too big because of security.

So much ignorance on this post, of course it's also a matter of taste but Israel has a lot of beautiful nature and landmarks.

Sure the risks of the concert are high, but it will just be much more spectacular if everything succeeds perfectly. One can only hope.

There's no doubt israel (and it's occupied territory) is a beautiful place, I've seen it myself, although a while back (1988)

Also I would like to remind all of you that it's not impossible to do a concert in that country at all, afterall PPL are able to demonstrate with big crowds also although most of those take place in Tel Aviv...

Finding a secure site in the city of Jerusalem however is a different matter, finding a place to celebrate the 60th birthday of israel in that city is kamikaze... It's not so much the country that worries me, it's the occasion. Also there's no way the concert can take place in "Al-Quds" (the palastinian name for east-Jerusalem)

Not to mention that most unesco heritage sites in that town are impossible to host big crowds (it's an old town with many narrow streets, not a place with big parks or lanes exactly...

Edit: These are the Unesco heritage sites BTW:

Masada
Old City of Acre
White City of Tel-Aviv -- the Modern Movement
Biblical Tels - Megiddo, Hazor, Beer Sheba
Incense Route - Desert Cities in the Negev

Of those I vote for Masada

/me is sceptic...
