JEAN MICHEL JARRE ANNOUNCES HISTORIC PERFORMANCE IN LONDON

Jean Michel Jarre has announced details of a historic performance of his seminal album "Oxygene", to take place at London's Royal Albert Hall.

The electronic pioneer will also use the original instruments that were used on the album, released thirty years ago last year, including over fifty analogue synthesisers.

Jarre, who will perform "Oxygene" in its entirety at the concert, explained the use of the original synths, saying: “I've composed "Oxygene" on extraordinary instruments, [as much a] part of electronic music mythology as Stradivarius was for classical music or Fender Telecaster was for rock music.

“I wanted the public to discover those and I am so excited about performing for the fans in London.”

The gig is set to take place on March 30.

Jean Michel Jarre Brings 'Oxygene' To Royal Albert Hall
For a special one-off show...

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Jean Michel Jarre is set to perform his classic album ‘Oxygène’ in its entirety at a very special show at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
The 59-year-old French composer will be backed by three musicians at the March 30 show as they recreate the iconic electronic work from start to finish.
Jarre says of the concert: “I've composed Oxygène on extraordinary instruments, part of electronic music mythology as Stradivarius was for classical music or Fender Telecaster was for rock music.
“I wanted the public to discover those and I am so excited about performing for the fans in London.”

Ticket prices for the one-off event start at £45 when they go on sale this coming Monday (January 21).

Yes Welcome to London,The capital of RIP off Britain...I'm surprised the Tickets are starting from that though,I would have though more Like £30-£35

The Boxes on the Upper level usually start from £100,but this depends on the event and the Name!

So who else is planning on going??

One thing that Puzzles me,Why Just one off event and why not elsewhere in the country too!The Albert Hall has limited seats, surely there will be more people wanting to go than they have seating for!And not everyone wants to spend all that money to see Jarre in London, which if you plan an overnight stay and Public transport will be very costly in London

I don't mind paying the Money to see him its been a decade almost since he played here, but I can see the ticket prices may put some people off.

£45 is a resonable price. Many other artists do and have sold tickets far more than the coming Jarre concert. Take Paul McCartney who did one show where the tickets were £3,000 a pop. Makes Jarre's sound like pocket money.

Look at it this way, will you see Jarre this close up and personal again, at this level, in such a place like the RAH for £45?

I guess that when JMJ did a free showcase at less than 200kms from me, and I was just in front the stage, I guess that I was really, really, really lucky ! (Cannes Teo&Tea Showcase :P)

Stand by the doorway @ RAH the night of the concert and look wistful; maybe they'll have pity on you and let you in...

£45 x 2 is more than I can afford....

And if I could get one of those luxury £100 seats, I'd want the full choir, laser harp and a personal performance from JMJ - NAKED in the royal box...

For less than a 2 hour perf.. it's got to come down in price... let the price match the length of the concert and lets have the same sort of prices they had in Paris... or it's really going to be that way that I can get down there (book early enough on a coach and I could get a return for 2 for less than £10) but I can't enjoy the concert...

It's becoming a really tough call.....
