I'm not saying there will be Deserted Palace at all. I'm just thinking out loud whether or not it will fit one CD at all. As for people's expectations, how can I be careful for those? They usually only bite themselves :P

I wonder if there have been any hints from the Youtube videos JMJ has been posting on his Facebook page a week or so ago - Calypso from La Defense, MF2 from Docklands.

I'm not saying these will form any of the tracks on this upcoming release, but I'm still hoping for some full length studio recordings of the La Defense arrangements that were hinted at with Equinoxe 4 and MF2 on Images... in particular possibly JMJ's best ever arrangement in my opinion - Paris La Defense/Oxygene 4. It would make a nice change from the original Oxygene 4 that gets churned out for every "best of" release.

I totally agree, the LaDefence arrangements are very cool! Christophe's drumming is also really nice.
Zoolookologie got a new side, Equinoxe 4 and as you said Oxygene 4, also with a cool ending.

I know it is not accepted to say it, but I presume that much of the concert was already recorded in the studio?

Well, I think it probably was (there is a pre-recording of Magnetic Fields 2 from La Defense, Images Equinoxe 4 and the re-release of Revolutions as Revolution, Revolutions). But, not withstanding that, it would still give a new spin to the old tracks to have the PLD versions of Oxygene 4, Equinoxe 4 & 5, Ethnicolor/Zoolookologie, MF2 with it's Diva like intro, RV2 & RV4 on the new best-of album, especially as JMJ probably has the studio recordings of these arrangements! Bit of wishful thinking perhaps, though!

Hear, hear GeeJee. Amazing isn't ? No tracklist, and wild speculation - that's the internet for you. I think you can glean from the interview that the 'Essentials' disc will be a slightly unconventional greatest hits, and the 'Rarities' disc will have music from 1967 - 73.

I think anything at all is possible. Even if JMJ are claiming this and that in this interview, in the end it could become the complete opposite.
Clearly he had difficulties separating "this" year (2011) from the "next" year (2012).
