So the CD alone is a new master recording note by note, but... is that the CD that is included with the DVD, or is that also the live recording, just as audio only? :?

So the CD included in the CD/DVD sets are different than the standalone CD's maybe ??

Possible. The CD's in JMJ's Warner DVD sets were audio highlights of the DVD.

My guess is that the CD's are the same in the three releases - the new studio master recording.

As far as I can judge, I think the CD is much like a remaster (take for example the Oxy 4 clip at JM's MySpace) - and the DVD is a live performance of it, which may sound different (hence the title 'Live In Your Living Room' and the additional tracks).

* Audio CD - featuring a new master recording of the original score, recorded, mixed & mastered in High Definition 24-Bit/96KHz.
Hang on, what does this say... newly recorded... not just remastered...

Hmm... (speculation mode [ON])

This is either true or false. Perhaps some trick to avoid paying Dreyfus some doh since he owns the recording... So either it is re-recorded to avoid paying, OR he's saying he re-recorded it with minor changes to avoid....

(speculation mode [OFF])

He did it before you know, remember "Hong Kong" ? With that one he avoided paying creditors from EiC ;-)

I just used my 'Dinosaurs!' 3-D glasses to look at this picture, and while everything turns to red and green, the picture does become 3-D'ish. And if I move from side to side, the background intruments move, where as with a normal picture, nothing happens of course.

Well, the official press release says: "a CD Edition featuring the NEW 24-Bit/96Khz Digital Master Recording of 'OXYGENE', recorded Note-For-Note from the Original Score (Catalogue Number: 5141362)", so it's definitely not just a remaster.

I reckon then that the CD+DVD is the live performance on both these formats, and I hope so, cos I'd also like to just pop a CD in my CD-player and listen to the live performance this way.

Rather offtopic, but for the Dutch fans, you can get a set of those 3D glasses for free this week at Bart Smit. It's because of Dutch version of Nickelodeon TV will broadcast the Shrek 3D movie on October 24th. It's the same technic used.
Shrek 3D
So you can see the 3D jarre pics too ;)

The Hong kong CD is recorded during the Europe in Concert tour (most likely barcelona), and not during the hong kong concert. Anyone who saw the video of that concert can clearly hear that ;-)

Also this reaminds me of something Patrick Rondat once said: "we were in jarre's studio recording the hong kong CD" followed by a scary look like "oops, I shouldn't have said that"....

Jerome, Thanx for the info, I will get some spare glasses then ;-)

I imdiatly noticed that the music was totally different. Better if you'd asked me.

FANTASTIC news :party2:

Just a thought, but the 'Pigeon Trailor', something tells me that the sounds you hear on that are taken from the instrument presentation, and just mixed together to make a track for the trailor - any thoughts anyone?

Yeah, that would be quite good especially if the instrument presentation is just for 10 minutes. :P I am hoping that JMJ will talk us through some of it. But 10 minutes is just not long enough. :(
