I suspect a 10 minute set maximum, seeing there's 24 acts playing.

YES no more.
He speaks on this subject. It will be a medley of the best-known pieces to open a one-hour electro concert.

Paralympic Games: Jean-Michel Jarre, Kavinsky… French electro in force at the closing ceremony

INFO LE PARISIEN. The closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will bring together 24 figures of the “French touch” on September 8 at the Stade de France, including Jean-Michel Jarre, Cassius, Ofenbach, Étienne de Crécy, Martin Solveig, The Avener, Kittin, Kavinsky…

“Paris is a party. » This novel by Ernest Hemingway was published in 1964. Sixty years later, the Stade de France will prove it on Sunday, September 8 during the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games, with the biggest electro show ever organized in France. After the welcome from 8:30 p.m. of the 4,400 athletes and the 168 Paralympic delegations, their parade, the speeches and the passing of the baton to Los Angeles 2028, it's time for music. And something never seen before. No fewer than 24 DJs and electronic producers will take turns at the decks in the Saint-Denis arena (Seine-Saint-Denis) until 11:30 p.m. It is the precursor of the "French touch", Jean-Michel Jarre, who will open and close the musical part with medleys of his planetary titles and will pass the baton to Étienne de Crecy, Cassius, Kavinsky — who already marked the first closing ceremony of the Olympic Games on August 11 as a duo with Angèle —, the duos Ofenbach and Polo & Pan, Martin Solveig, Kungs, Pedro Winter, aka Busy P, The Avener, Breakbot and Irfane, Agoria, Alan Braxe, DJ Falcon, GЯEG, Boston Bun and a lot of producers, Kittin, a big name in raves since the 1990s, Irène Dresel, Agoria, Anetha, Tatyana Jane, Chloé Caillet, Nathalie Duchène…

For this fourth and final ceremony of Paris 2024 and these farewells to the Olympic Games, Thomas Jolly, the artistic director of the ceremonies, and Victor Le Masne, their musical director, have entrusted the show to Romain Pissemen, world leader in the production and staging of electronic shows, who has worked with David Guetta, Martin Garrix, DJ Snake and reigns over the nights of Ibiza…
“We are going to celebrate the Games, the athletes and electronic music,” rejoices this 46-year-old from Nancy. We are going to tell the story of French electro and show all its richness, with artists representing all genres, techno, raves…”

The latter called upon the “godfather” of the genre and pope of electro high masses. From the height of his half-century of career, Jean-Michel Jarre says he is “very happy” to participate in “this celebration of sport and French electro in all its diversity”. “We are going to celebrate what brings together the most people on the planet, sport and electronic music,” he rejoices. “Romain Pissemen was kind enough to contact me and this summer we shared our experiences of the big shows. We joined forces to send a final festive and spectacular postcard to the world.” Like Irène Dresel, we are delighted “with a grand finale with so many artists of a music that knows no borders.” “It’s a huge honour” for Chloé Caillet, “a source of pride” for Pedro Winter, aka Busy P, and GЯEG, “also happy to represent Mauritius.” Martin Solveig is “deeply honoured to be able to contribute to a collective edifice”: “I feel a particular joy in being associated with the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games, because it embodies an additional positive dimension by celebrating the strength and courage of people with disabilities.” »

We are still surprised by the absence of David Guetta and DJ Snake, the two most popular French DJs in the world... "The schedules were not always compatible with all the artists we contacted, but we remain open until the last minute, positive Thierry Reboul, the director of ceremonies. We want the largest possible gathering."

The objective is obviously to fill the Stade de France (there are still tickets in all categories, from 45 euros to 450 euros), as during the first closing ceremony, which was sold out in front of 70,000 spectators. And to close Paris 2024 in style.

Yes this is my expectation aswell. Quote in English (thanks to Google) : "I will do a medley of my most famous pieces worldwide, which I completely reworked this summer. I am not doing a show within the show, the idea, when I open, is to pass the baton to the cream of French electro artists and DJs, to the younger generation." So I expect one song and maybe at the end combine all DJs in one closing act.

I saw ticket prices were 120 - 450 euro. But for those of you concidering to go, I believe all are sold out allready.

Is anyone worried that the musical show will be only 1h long with 24 artists?

This means that each artist could only get 2.5 min...what could help with short time segment is if the artists made some kind of collaborations and songs together...
Also it was mentioned that Jarre will "open" and "close" the ceremony...

So what are the chances that we will get even 10 min...
Anyway, this show will definitely be interesting, the only French figure missing might be Guetta (not that I adore his music), but by statistics he is DJ No 1. I also read that he still might show up too...

This would be really cool, if we could get one large "finale" song with those artists together...

I know it won't happen given what I've read above, but I'd love it if Jean-Michel Jarre opened the show, with lights down and focus on the stage, where he plays Chronologie 3 on the laser harp accompanied by a solo soprano singer, before handing over to other artists who are much better placed to play the whole EDM thing.

He deserves to stand out from the crowd, not get lost as part of it.

At the end, "the others" hand the controls back to JMJ, who plays Rendezvous 4 to close the show. Job done! 😁 That would be perfect, for me!

Chronologie 3? Those times are over, I think. If he can only play one song to millions who never heard of him, he won't play something with a soprano singer, he doesn't want to look like some old fashioned guy right before the young artists play.

I think he should play something that he personally enjoys too, not RV4, maybe Equinoxe 4, Oxygene 8, Stardust, The Time Machine, etc.

Reading some comments here about the recent tracks: I don't understand this. He is 76 years old. 76! How many other 76 year old legends are there who are still active? Who many of them still release new music, new albums, new concepts every year? And how many of them still keep up with the times instead of pandering to nostalgia being stuck in the 70s like Krafterk, making innovative experiments (VR, binaural, 360, AI, etc), taking risks, trying to be fresh even at 76?
At this point, I'm just happy every time he performs. Obviously, we can and should criticise the tracks we don't like, but the constant negtivity and cynical attitude from some people here is ridiculous. Let's see the show first.
