Composer Jean Michel Jarre arrived to Israel on Sunday (1 July 2007) in preparation for a show he is arranging for next year's celebration of Israel's 60th Independence Day. The show will take place in Jerusalem.

Speaking to a newspaper, Jarre says he feels emotionally attached to Israel and his family has a connection to Israel too, since his grandmother is Jewish (apparently some of his family members were perished in the holocaust).

Jarre himself will also celebrate his 60th birthday next year.
