E1 : 8/10
Of a high standard all the way threw without having anything that completely blows me away except for Moby. Watching You is the only track I don't play.

E2: 6/10
Very much a mixed bag, with Zimmer and PSB being the stand out tracks. The rest are below average to good(ish) except for Exit which insults my ears.

This is old news. All of us who followed music in the 90s heard that immediately. Primal Scream was doing very well at the time.

But it's more a case of sampling than a remix.
Seems pretty lightweight for a 'collaboration' to me.

Very fitting with Peaches, could be one of her lyrics ;-)

FYI, to be released on May 20 in the US, will see if it's the same clear vinyl.

Well spotted, but not that hard since 7" is above average!

Yeah. Considering the lack of promotion of the track by Primal Scream, not to mention that there have been no more track stories after Peaches, I have a feeling that the rest of the collaborations were done only via email.
He met Julia Holter, Hans Zimmer, Christphe, Tellier for sure, possibly with The Orb, Yello too.

In fact the only collaborators that can be almost certainly ruled out as having met JMJ in person are the Pet Shop Boys, as per their newsletter ...

Let us know if it's different to the European release.

@ Christophe,

Sure, I will. Going to order the WYW single this week so should get it sometime next week.

The US Exit single is the same as the EUR single so I would expect the same thing with the WYW single, although it would be cool to have pink vinyl to match the cover... We shall see.

Speaking of differences, the US CD package of E2 is slightly different from the EUR CD package (apart from the copyright verbiage): the spine created by the tab when connecting both E1 and E2 is just plain black, no "ELECTRONICA" written on it.

Cheers,

HD

I ordered more than a week ago the US edition of Electronica 2 on ebay.com and still not received. I will see the differences hopefully soon. But wasn't it in a jewelcase?

Yes, I was thinking that too when I saw the clear vinyl.
