I guess the obvious thumpers are what's suited to a festival audience. The entire set list is, well, thumping. Which is fine! I'd really like chrono or RV 4 though.

I'd imagine that the set list is locked in at this point. Has he ever been one to change set lists on a tour?

Can't remember any added tracks, but Oxygene 1 was dropped off the 2010 tour setlist at some point and Chronologie 4 was dropped off from the 2011 setlist.

(Unless of course you consider the 2009-2011 tours to be the one and the same, but I don't think even JMJ did... as in, the 2009 gig in Finland had a different tour book (and tracklisting) than the 2011 one. OH well)

Now that the 2009-2011 tours were over half a decade ago, it's interesting to note how Equinoxe 5 made its comeback (and it didn't take long for people to get bored of it) but tracks like LCM 4 probably never will.

When was this track played live for the last time actually? The Twelve Dreams concerts? Because if there's one track that I have to hear live it's this one.

The VHS released is the only thing remaining of the concert? They don't have all the original tapes anymore somewhere in an archive?
27-11-10: Ahoy Rotterdam
22-11-16: Heineken Music Hall Amsterdam
01-07-25: Palais royal de Bruxelles/Paleizen Plein Brussel

The last time was in 2001 at the "Akropolis" concerts in Anthens, Greece. Only the live broadcast didn't have it because lot of problems happen with this track during the second concert. In the first concert (full dress rehearsal) everything was fine. I don't think he will play Ethnicolor this tour.

The TV archives only have what's been broadcast on TV. The concert itself was not broadcast live, but later (september 1990 if I remember correctly), when Mansfield made an edit.

So the raw tapes are probably somewhere in the archives of Disques Dreyfus?

And that's the same edit that they put on the official VHS?

Back ontopic I think!

Sorry if this has been asked somewhere already (fb...) but I didn't get to watch the live stream because the website wanted credit card info. I wasn't into that so I stewed at work all day

Is there a place to watch the concert that isn't youtube clips? Culturebox doesn't seem to show it, but it's 3am and I'm not too awake. Is this something that will eventually pop up?

there was no stream, there was no broadcast, there was nothing except people with mobile phones filming with abysmal sound and (mostly) epileptic seizure inducing camera work. The later videos are a lot better for the eye, but for the ear it's all been bad so far.

Yes, it hurt my ears and my eyes. But we can get an impression how it was. The best so far is the short video that we get on Jarre's facebook and youtube channel but the sound that we hear is like the albumversions.

hmm...
They do over on their devoted groups/pages etc. But there is no call for it to be debated here on a JMJ group.

:)
Jarre concerts attended - Destination Docklands 1988 - Paris La Defense 1990 - Europe In Concert 1993 (Manchester & London) - Oxygene Tour 1997 (Birmingham)

In PSB's case it is more like "at least the singing is live". When PSB performs on a playback show like Wetten Dass, no one bats an eye. With JMJ you got hundreds of pages of mimetalk.

Pet Shop Boys primary "instrument" are vocals, which they perform live (I assume they do at their concerts; I don't follow PSB)

JMJ's primary instrument is synth, which for this show, and historically speaking, has been mostly playback.

That's the difference in terms of fan "outrage".
