I don't think we read the same article. And even if it was their first - then it was a poor decision to let an inexperienced team do it, especially when a MAJOR celebrity is involved. They clearly chose a wrong platform unsuitable for this kind of event and then used tons of scotch tape and WD-40 to make it work. And it didn't work. It was abysmal. What we saw on youtube was kinda OK, but the VR experience was terrible, with out-of-sync 2D projection of JMJ which was not even the correct height. Not to mention that the very idea of a "VIP room" precludes the notion of inclusiveness.

Interview: Jean-Michel Jarre on new ideas for music presentation

Jean-Michel Jarre's debut "Oxygène" from 1976 is considered the first modern electronic album of pop. Now the 71-year-old Frenchman was the first musician to ever play a virtual reality live concert. Jarre appeared as an avatar in Paris under the motto "Alone Together". He wants to demonstrate that future technologies open up new possibilities for artistic production.

In the next step, will you send your avatar on tour?
Why not? We have so many ideas right now. There were reactions from all over the world to “Alone Together”. I believe there is a lot of potential in VR performances.

I believe I might have found titles of the unknown tracks (the opening one and the one that preceded Stardust) on Sacem. Uninsipring to say the least:

VR CONCERT 1
VR CONCERT 2

I really hate to be a negative person, but I'm a little fed up of this 'look at me kids, I'm cool too!' phase/era.

I don't see this as that, don't see many virtual concerts happening. Honestly, it's pretty cool stuff. Especially with the lockdown of the past nine months...
