Didn't they forget/purposely not take the photo? Or was that just for the promotional MFS pictures.

MPS has 8 polaroids on the inner sleeve, the last one taken has the (first) owner on it.....

So they didn't finalise the inner sleeve of the album before after the auction?

They left some space blank, so a picture of the owner could be glued in place. That's my guess.

Some old millionaire fool who's not even interested in Jarre's music?
He can't be alive today, so I wonder who the new owner is? His son/nephew? Or perhaps it's just lying on a dusty loft?

He's sold it. I have been digging deep to find out who's the owner a long while ago, but I couldn't track the current (at least 3rd) owner down.

do you have any idea for how much he sold that LP?

The first owner was Mister Gerard, back then he lived in Saint Tropez. I was able to track him down using a contact at Dreyfus music. I have had email contact with him, as I didn't have the guts to call him, and I was afraid he didn't speak english. His english was very good, but once the email contact was established, I didn't bother calling him. Anyway, he didn't tell me why he bought it, so I can't confirm this near-death-experience-story. He didn't tell me why and for how much he sold it, but he did tell me he sold it to a friend of his, going by the name of Ducroix. So I asked him for contact details, to which he replied he would try to establish a contact between us. It took a huge while before I got in contact again, Gerard told me that he was unable to establish a contact between Ducroix and me, simply because Ducroix wasn't interested: he had already sold the LP and although he did know the 3rd owner, he didn't want to give any contact details or details about the selling price or anything whatsoever. I tried a few times after that, and Gerard responded very kindly, saying he wanted to help me track down the original LP. I did ask a few times about progress, but he told me he hadn't been able to dig any further and that's where I stopped searching. I do have a very reliable source saying the original master tapes still excist, though. And I do know who the owner is.

I can tell you without a doubt no picture of me is in the album.
Well if I was the owner and I know that is not likely to happen I would put the album on show so at least fans would be able to see it behind glass. Sorry for being off topic.
