Where did I hear that title "happiness is a sad song" before?

It's a title composed in 1969 by JMJ for the occasion of a youth festival in Reims in 1969

@Jarrekid: I think like electro-acoustic/musique concrete, in the vein of La Cage/Erosmachine.

Yes, I know that, what I said was a little vague. I wonder how much of Happiness is in Melancholic Rodeo. I thought it would've been quite revolutionary at the time (I guess JMJ really was back then though) for someone to have written these melodies (the bassline is 100% grime (not dirt, a kind of music), I love it!!!!)

Ahem
/assumption mode {ON}
MR is largely based on a Roland preset, see topic here
https://www.zoolook.nl/forum/viewtopic.p ... 60&start=0
That Roland is post 1969 (A LOT).
So what's left is the "pitchbending solo thingy" that could be the recycled bit.
It is very unlikely that that is the 1969 bit for a number of reasons, the most important being that JMJ has only recently started doing stuff like that (basicly the intro's of the 97 tour, and lateron on GoL etc....) Ignoring the fact that it is waaaaay to melodic for GRM type stuff....

Yeah, sure... If he said it it must be true, too bad no-one can check....

It wouldn't be surprising because Aor was used for Ethnicolor and Les Granges Brûlées for Rendez Vous III

A few people suggested that this 'fast-forward'-tape thing at the start of the track actually is Melancholic Rodea, but sped up 8 times or so.
I've also heard this is an Apple Logic preset, but I can't confirm.

Several people in here have tried to speed down that spinning sound, but it doesn't sound typical JMJ, more like a piano jingle from the 80's or 90's.

Yeah sorry, that's what I meant. Not sure, I think they said it was some track off Deserted Palace or LGB...
