Damn it! When will the Japanese ever release a Mini-LP Box Set of Jarre's albums???

At least a Box Set for say, Oxygene, Equinoxe, Magnetic Fields & The Concerts In China would make a one-off nice collection.

Here is one for Vangelis:

and they have made one for just about any artist who is somebody. Who can I call...hehehe.

Note
For the uninformed this is what the Japanese Mini-LP's are:

A mini LP is a CD version of something that was originally released as a 12" (12 inch) vinyl LP.

They are also known as LP replicas as they tend to exactly replicate the original packaging of the first vinyl release.

In many cases the packaging is superior to, or at least more elaborate than the majority of vinyl releases. The reason being that many follow-up vinyl releases were inferior to the first vinyl release (or at least lacked some of the extras found in the first release - such as postcards, posters, lyric sheets etc).

They are often refered to as "cardboard sleeves" and "paper sleeves" being made exlusively from paper or cardboard (other than the CD of course). Other names and abbreviations include: "jpn lp sleeve cd" and "kami-jacket". (The last of these I guess is an indication that they are held in high esteem by many who collect them.)

Some also come in a special promo box as shown above.

Yeah - that would be really neat.
But I'm not sure if Sony or FDM has a big share in the Japanese market.

What about such a boxset with all the original 12" singles - to have all the old extended remixes etc... wooaaah.. :D

Hehe, I know there have been 7" boxed sets on CD; the Clash released one with about 10 singles in I think. I guess each single is on a seperate CD (a bit of a waste, but hey).

A compilation of extended remixes is even more pointless, imho... :smoke:
