Soon it is 10 years since Lady Diana died. And since Jean Michel Jarre liked her very much, I feel like starting a thread about her and were we show pics and stuff related to her.

Princess Diana was a beautiful, very kind and generous woman. She for me is very sadly missed. I do not feel it is 10 years but just like yesterday that she died. I will never forget her and I think of her very often.

I watched her funeral on television and I did shed a lot of tears. It was very sad and emotional.

I never met her but my sister did. My sister said that she was more beautiful in the flesh, elegant and sweet. She felt very privileged and honored having met her.

IMHO Jean Michel should have played at the Concert for Diana but it was not to be.

On Princess Diana's 10 years anniversary of her death there is going to be a memorial service held at Guards Chapel in London. As far as I am aware, the memorial service will be on British television live.

Isn't this the princess that stole all the attention of the moscow concert?

My mind is crashing when I think about it, as the Moscow concert and the death of Diana wasn't the same year (according to my minds internal clock).

Why does some of us fans feel that Lady Di ruined the concert of Jarre? I don't understand it, and I never would have fellt that she ruined it, since it was so shortly after she died and knowing that they were some sort of friends...

I actually think quite the opposite, JMJ made a wonderful thing by taking some seconds of silence all over Moscow and all over the world, this was a wonderful tribute he did !!

Ehm... scuse me... I never said such a thing and also saw no-one claiming that she ruined the concert...

It was a very nice gesture on JMJ's part to speak about Diana and dedicate Souvenir of China to her. She was only mentioned once at the concert and I don't feel that she stole the concert. , not at all.

All I said was that no-one overhere noticed there was a JMJ concert because it wasn't mentioned in the news since...

Here's another thing you won't understand then.

When US tourists ask PPL in paris the way to the Diana memorial parisians point them to the original lady liberty instead... Since there is no such monument ofcourse, why would france allow such a thing for a princess of arch-enemy england afterall...?

Pointing them to the original of lady liberty is just a brilliant twist IMO... Personaly I love this type of black humour, but that's just me and some PPL from Paris (and for those that don't believe me, there's always a bunch of flowers dedicated to lady Di on the foot of that statue....

No, not when it's about the dead.

Well, over here JMJ has not been mentioned in the news whenever he has played concerts for a very long time. This does not necessarily mean that other headline stories stop JMJ news being televised.

The Flame of Liberty is only used as a memorial site for Diana because it is near where she died.

People would very much like to see a statue of Diana in Paris. Me included.

Dominique de Fontenay, a 34-year-old event planner who is campaigning to build a proper statue in Diana's honour. He teamed up with a jeweller and sculptor, Xavier de Fraissinette, to design a bronze statue of Diana in a suit reaching out to a small child holding a bouquet.

I don't really remember her so to be honest, and really honest, I don't really care either...

All I know is that she seemed to feel sorry for children in poor countries. She was chased a lot by paparazzis
and right after some party she tragically got killed in a mysterious car crash (like millions of other traffic victims).
Then Jarre played one of his tracks to the memory of her...
I have left all the pretty details about her to my old mom and the gossip press.

It was not a party. Diana was out to dinner at the Ritz Hotel, Paris with her boyfriend Dodi.

I was saying to a friend just the other day that I feel sorry for the younger generation who never knew her. Parents who are great fans of Diana have told their children all about her life. This is one way her memory can be remembered in the future and all the good she did.

And I still don't see why she was so imortant (except for her sons ofcourse)
