The boss is new and has only been there since August. Maybe, just a coincidence that JMJ signed with them after a new boss takes over. Reading the article no specific names were mentioned and only “some of its artists” have to work harder.

Well, I'd guess Kraftwerk have to work harder. There went 17 years between Electric Cafe and Tour de France Soundtracks, and now it's already 4 years since that release.

Minimum Maximum was the result of A LOT of hard work, afterall standing on a stage doing "almost nothing" for over a year is very hard work...

I think an artist has to be free in his artistic activities.

When in studio Jarre , as any other, is not to think: "I am going to spend 10 more hours working, Maybe I get an idea?" Better is to enter the studio and relax, and enjoy himself creating.

Work harder with concerts - maybe. But such one as Moscow would take too much energy and strenth from him. And his is 60....

So it completely depends on Jarre, not some EMI manager or someone.

I'd much rather JMJ spent years on another great album like Meta or Oxy 7-13 rather than release a constant stream of "Oooh look at my 10 favourite presets on my new piece of gear"

The title is a bit misleading, IMHO. The article is just about "a few artists" on the EMI label, and JMJ isn't even mentioned, and I don't see any reason for EMI to tell JMJ to work harder. It's only 8 months ago since he released his last album, and now there is an upcoming Oxygene 3d thingie.

Relating to this thread, Robbie Williams and Paul McCartney decided to quit EMI. The reason : EMI wants force artists to follow what they say...
