I like Mór Jókai: Az aranyember (The golden man...in English), what is an exciting adventure-novell. He was Hungarian writer/author, i don't think you know him...
I like still Jules Verne: Sándor Mátyás (Matthias Sandorf originally), what was also an adventure.

Hard to say...I don't have one favourite...the writer who I just thought about seeing this thread is Milan Kundera, the man whose kind of writing I like very much...but he is not the only writer who I like and I have no favourite book.

Mine is still Gullivers Travells, it is a really good satire book over the human kind and what a pitty we are to the world. And a wonderful fairytale aswell.

I don't read books, I think movies are more amusing. People don't understand my point of view. I only read interesting articles about music forinstance, but that is interesting because music is my hobby.

I love reading. I wish I had more time to read more than I do...
I have to mention two, but they're a continuing story.
'Dragonsong' and 'Dragonsinger: Harper Of Pern' by Anne McCaffery (I love her Dragons Of Pern series
)
The first book inrtoduces Menolly, a young girl who's parents, Yanus and Mavi, deny her dream to become a musician. In Pern, musicians (or 'harpers') have only ever been men, so it is very much considered a man's profession - especially by Menolly's parents.
Eventually, Menolly runs away to the Harper Craft Hall. (I suppose that's Pern's equivilent of music college
) On the way, she befriends a total of nine fire lizards. (They're just like small dragons)
The second book is about Menolly's studies in the Harper Craft Hall with the other harpers, who are more accepting than her parents.
Though they were surprised at first, and she definately made an impression on anyone she met.
(Menolly is my favourite character of all the Pern books I've read so far
)
Menolly eventually becomes the first female professional musician in Pern.

Haven't read books in a long time, gotta prefer comics too, but 'A Clockwork Orange' was awesome as was 'Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep'
