Jean Michel Jarre - Palawan, The Last Refuge 1

What ever happened to a beautiful little track like that for example? :)

It became music as part of a documentary. :punch: But good question. 8)

Aside from the Cousteau video, and the rarities albums...I reckon the original masters are sitting in a box in a vault.

How about we get a bunch of us together and plan a heist where we steal the originals?

Ironically, considering the music was used for a Cousteau video, then we could do our own "Oceans 11". lol

Well, it kinda transformed into the Chronologie 8 intro.

Good post. Interesting concept, who owns the rights to Palawan? If it's Dreypus then it's only a matter of time before we see an 'official' release.... That being the case how many genuine Jarre supporters would buy it? Hmmm....

I would buy it. It goes against my principals if it's a Dreypratt release but sometimes you have to sacrifice yourself, for the ones you like.

Why not an album in that "Refuge" style? He could have gathered many Vangelis fans.
I should have bought it regardless of label, several.
However I wouldn't care a bit about the sc "Volcanic Dance". That's just weird. :smoke:

Just discovered this pre-Oxygene track:
Sport en Fete theme

It's from 1973 and sounds very Deserted Palace.

Sounds like Starsky & Hutch theme gone wrong, slightly. :smoke: 8) Maybe, everything sounded like that back in the 70s. :fine:
