Is he a tall guy, or medium height or short? So difficult to tell from seeing on TV or at a distance... doe anyone who's seen him up close know?

He's short. When he was in Amsterdam in 2004, he was walking through the cinema and that was the first thing I noticed.

When I met him I could give eye contact without looking up or down.

I am around about 5' 5".

he's not really tall - i'm only 1.57 m and I'd give him about 1.70 - 1.75 tops. I didn't get to stand too near him, but I was within 2-3 meters.

In a 2004 topic the answer was 17X cm. Which is average height around here.

so he varies in height between 1.70 (not very tall) to 1.80 (quite tall actually!)...

depends what boots he's got on I guess!

So JMJ is a tall dwarf (or a short giant)!

Anyone (in the UK?) remember an episode of "Only Fools & Horses" with wildly varying descriptions of someone (as part of a police investigation)... well, I'm reminded of it now!

Yup. He's not a very big man. I'd give him 1.75 max.

That's what I estimated him to be when I saw him on stage, about 1.76m / 5' 9½''.

Maybe 1.80m was valid some 25 years ago?

Dominique seems to be the tallest one in the quartet.
Claud the shortest with Francis and Jean Michel somewhere in the middle?

According to the same web site Anne should be 1.68m (5' 6'').

Jarre is 5'.7", but with his hair he is 6'.3"

So, if we can sum it all up. . . . . he is a tall short arse

I would guess he is around 1.76 tall...
but when I have met him i think he looked taller than I remember!

Maybe he is taller now than when he was younger...cause he is about 4 cm more famous than that time!
