OK,

Can anyone clear up for me, what the full tracklisting for the concert was in its entirety?

From what I can gather, it seemed to only contain:

Ethnicolor
Magnetic Fields 1
Wooloomooloo
Equinoxe 7
Souvenir of China
Equinoxe 5
Rendez-Vous 3
Rendez-Vous 2
Rendez-Vous 6
Rendez-Vous 4
Rendez-Vous 4 (encore)

Totalling that up, this only comes to about an hour of music, which seems extremely short compared to Houston before it and Docklands after it, which lasted around 2 hours!!

Any info or your thoughts and comments!

Yes, that's about it. Radio broadcast has no more. Eye witnesses confirmed the tracklist a long time ago.

Yep, that's about it - and about the only concert not to have Oxygene 4! I had thought that there may have been an encore of RV2. From Equinoxe 5 onwards, it's basically just like Houston (minus Oxygene 5).

Compared to Houston, Lyon was a very short gig, but aside from Oxygene 4 and Equinoxe 4, the other different material wasn't what you would call mega concert-friendly (Oxygene 1-Oxygene 2, Equinoxe 2) which was understandably dropped for Lyon (apparently didn't get such a great reaction at Houston). But then again - Wooloomooloo????!!!!

I think Oxygene 4 wasn´t played at the China Concerts in 1981 too. It is neither on the official album nor on the Peking radio broadcast.
Does anybody know the complete setlist of the concerts? The official album seems to be very re-recorded. I even doubt that some of the songs on the album were played during the concerts, like Arpegiator or Equinoxe 7.

Btw, what I heard about the Lyon Concert is that it had to be so short due to security reasons. Jarre speaks about that in the Making the Steamroller fly documentary.

Probably going onto another topic, but in respect of China - there is a question mark over Arpegiator, as to whether it was actually played at all in China. Equinoxe 7 - yes I think it was, the video shows JMJ playing the end of it at least (although the main melody part is accompanied by annoying visuals of people pinching and rubbing their noses). Most people now think that Souvenir Of China was never performed until Houston (and, inexplicably, about every concert since!).

Don't recall the Steamroller bit explaining why Lyon was so short, and I don't understand why security concerns would only result in an hour long event as opposed to say, 90 minutes!

Only one I remember is Oxy 4 used as a radio commercial which appeared for a matter of seconds on the official album. So does a full, proper "live" version exist of Oxy 4?

That's the one I'm talking about. Don't tell me it's not on the album then :pwned:

So, how much times Fourth Rendez-Vous was played? On the radio broadcast there is only ONE version of it and TWO of Second Rendez-Vous. And as encore Second Rendez-Vous was played as a whole thing or part 3 only as we can heard it on the radio broadcast?
