I didn't know about this one, interesting if it was a real performance by JMJ.

I have heatd rumors about that one, but never got it confiremd...

It was discussed a lot on the old jarre.net forum, but we could never confirm it...

It's not JMJ playing live there, it's only the track being taken on that 2LP set.

As it says on that "Aerogang"-website: "the show opened with "Oxygene 5", but first on Stage was Bob Welch..." I guess that they've only been playing "Oxygene 5" as concert opener, just like "Waiting For Cousteau" was played through the loudspeakers before a Jarre concert

I knew that. Oliver's version is correct.

Then my thought was right, it was played but not by JMJ as a performance.

I have a copy of that live album. Nice detail for the collectors; the oxygene track is on that album. The first a friend showed me it, I was completely confused; 1978, Jarre, live on a festival, in America?

The album showed on the website link is a bootleg with just the Aerosmith songs. There is an official release (2LP) with the highlights of that festival, incl. Oxygene.
Musical acts featured at the festival included Ted Nugent, Aerosmith, Santana, Dave Mason, Heart, Bob Welch and Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush.
