In a word, NO. What we need is a tour with never before played tracks and some new album tracks. While Jarre live is a fantastic experience, it's all very stale at the moment.

Ever wondered how it could be that thousands and thousands of people attended the concerts we all attended the last two years, while, at the same time, you only know one or two people in your neighbourhood or family that actually know Jarre vaguely?

About 50% of the audience knows Oxygene 4 from the radio. About 25% owns one or two albums. 24% of the audience really likes instrumental music and owns a lot of Vangelis, Oldfield and Jarre. The other 1% is "us", that knows JMJs music and video's thoroughly want to hear Arpegiator, Magnetic Fields 1 (last part), Zoolook, Silhouette, Rendez-vous 5 and other tracks Jarre never performed live.

Sad but true, but how many people actually knew Second Rendez-Vous before Jarre started "ramming it down our throats"... I understand the real fans want change and that Jarre just plays it safe like any other artist out there, but having a change in playlist will not hurt the songs that he wants to play. Keep Oxygene part 4, Equinoxe Part 5 and 7 and ofcourse keep Les Chants Magnetiques 2, but replace some of the other tracks with material barely heard live. I'd die if I ever heard Zoolook, Ethnicolor, Calypso 1/2, (complete) Industrial Revolutions or Les Chants Magnetiques Part 4 live, those tracks may not have become as known as some other pieces that we all know and love, but do you really think the casual addience care's about Variation 3 and the Theremin piece amonst other tracks... I really doubt it...

Just see what he did with the Monaco concert, he bumped of a couple of tracks and added new ones people wanted to hear... Result an incredible hyped audience through out the concerts once the right tracks were played

I don't reckon anything... Jarre does whatever he feels good for him... But it's hard finding billions for a giant set like Monaco...

Exactly my point too. To put it in general terms, Jarre cannot play the tracks a few hardcore fans want, as he needs to make sure the general and casual fans are happy.

I dont think casual fans would be angry if he replaced Variation with Arpegiator, but it is also a matter of what kind of musicians and instruments they have on stage. Tracks from Zoolook require a different set-up, different kind of playing, and maybe they dont want that. It's also a matter of visuals; changing tracks within a tour means they need to change visuals, and if they dont do that before the tour it isnt going to happen within the tour. New visuals also mean extra costs, and maybe there is no room for that.

Think about it; Calypso doesnt look great as a live performance without the Amoco Renegades (now called the BP Renegades). Chronologie 3 doesnt look good without a soprano on stage. London Kid needs a guitar player. The are reasons like these, and other reasons we dont know, for many other tracks.

All problems can be solved, but they cost money and take time, two factors that are not infinite. That said, I do believe there are a few small changes they could have made before each leg of the tour. Adding a track or two like in Monaco is an investment but they should have time for that at least before each leg.
