Ive got a few synths ( jd800 / jp 8000 included ) but Ive yet to get a D50 - will dither no longer though as they're great fun and a classic to have in your collection.
May I ask, how much modifying will I need to do to get your soundbank? Are all those presets we hear?
Thanks man.
They are all presets, exept the Revolutions sequencer bass which I found in a sysX and modified it. There are some other preset surgestions for that sound, but I don't think they sound right, and I have even cheated myself, since I couldn't play two sounds together, so I mixed in a pitch shifted version to have more bass
Most of them are presets with little modification, mostly effect and balance between Upper and Lower ....and adjustment on velocity since all sounds are VERY sensitive in velocity difference - D-50 really needed a fixed velocity mode
I did some EQ on the final sound mix and added some ekstra reverb on a few sounds.
Michel Geiss told me, that he was not so deeply involved with the album, but mister Perrier was, so I actually think he recorded the most of the album
I have a Yamaha KX-5 and let me be honest, this keytar was NOT used for anything live in Docklands - it's simply not possible to play the Dominique parts one that, regarding range and the mix between pitch and modulation control - sorry.
