I haven't read much of the comments and I haven't listened to the entire record yet, but my general impression is that the music is pretty interesting. The mix has a lot of compression to it and is quite tiresome to the ears.
ELECTRONICA has been a project I wanted to do since I was young. Working with all these incredible collaborators was a dream come true. Now to be nominated for the 2017 Grammys is an absolute honor and nothing I would have expected. US record industry giving awards to US record industry. I mean, who in their right mind would give a grammy to someone like Billy Ray Cyrus or something like that? It's not even a matter of taste, it's masturbation.
Funniest one was Hard Rock Grammy back in 1987 (I think). Metallica had performed at the show and were so much big favourties to win the award that some of the other nominees didn't bother turning up. Jethro Tull had been told not to bother turning up by their manager, but won it for Crest of a Knave (good album btw), which wasn't really a hard rock album. Then Tull's record label took out this advert: http://electrocutas.co.uk/p/1989z.jpg
All of this p*ssed for Metallica and their fans so much there is still a flame war going on at Youtube to this day. And Lars Ulrich once sarcastically thanked Tull for doing bring out an album that year when receiving an award.
