So I've been browing the web and came across this edition. It includes a 12-page booklet. I couldn't dig up much info about it and it is not listed on discogs?
Anybody ever heard of HMV editions?

I have one. It's not a bootleg, it was sold at HMV in the 80s. There is a CD and an LP edition and they're not that rare. In fact, the price that store is selling it for is pretty good.

Well, that clarifies it. Is there anything special in the booklet?

It's a small biography and some details about the album, witten by journalist Johnny Black. He probably wrote it based on an interview with JMJ, because there are some quotes from him in the article. Nothing new iirc.
There's also some familiair press photos from thr 79s and 80s, including some Houston photos.
The last page has two reviews of Oxygene.

So is it worth trying to get those editions instead of remastered albums?

Oh absolutely. The sound quality of the earlier CDs is much better than the remastered ones. Here's a thread about some of the things that went wrong with them:

(best to read the later pages, this is where the remasters are reviewed)

Always go for the original release if possible. Some of the '97 remasters are decent enough, but that's the best they get. Decent. All the later remasters should be avoided, they're absolutely terrible.

Yeah, it's genuine - it was released just prior to Docklands, as I recall (I bought mine 9th September 1988 - still got the receipt in the box) - about two weeks prior to when Docklands was originally scheduled for - when Jarre was all over the British press and TV.
Each one was numbered - a total of 3,500 pressed - although how many copies had each number, I don't know - mine is number 818. I do remember they were only on sale for a VERY short time - they were all gone the next week from my local branch, anyway.
The CD version is the original CD pressing of Oxygene from Polydor - pre-dating all the remasters of more recent years - and the booklet has some very nice photos from Jarre's past concerts - taken, I think, from the Remeilleux biography released at Docklands itself.
Oh, and mine is autographed by the man himself - to make it even more collectable.

Sure. I could order the HMV version and exchange it for your vinyl. Deal?

Depends if the whole package is complete (it needs to have the certificate too)
