Seems something is happening:

Electronic music pioneer @jeanmicheljarre will release his 22nd studio album, and one of his most ambitious projects to date, ‘OXYMORE’ on October 21st, via Sony Music.

The album has been conceived as an immersive work in a multi-channel and 3D binaural version. Multi-channel binaural sound will revolutionise how music is composed, mixed and produced, placing sounds and textures in space in 360 degrees, and can be easily experienced by any listeners with headphones. ‘OXYMORE’ is the first commercial release of this stature which pushes the future of musical audio and sound to this new level.

As part of the immersive project, Jarre will also launch ‘OXYVILLE’, a VR world which accompanies the album release.

“OXYVILLE will be a virtual music city, and in the future I will invite other artists to be a part of it, as well as hold masterclasses and other events. I want it to become a sandbox for new music experiences,” he explains. Jarre is no stranger to innovative disruption when it comes to VR and the metaverse, having recently performed ‘Welcome to the Other Side’, a groundbreaking livestream broadcast worldwide from a virtual Notre Dame in Paris on New Year’s Eve, 2021. U.S. touring & live entertainment trade publication Pollstar stated that the livestream attracted record breaking audiences of over 75 million viewers worldwide across various platforms, television and VR.

Electro music pioneer Jean-Michel Jarre's next album will be released on October 21. Oxymore will be resolutely immersive since it is designed in 3D sounds and thought to be played live in OXYVILLE , the fictional city that will accompany the album.

I like that the press release states 22 studio albums which means Music for Supermarkets, Deserted Palace, Les Granges Brûlées and Sessions 2000 are included in the canon.

I wonder if it is going to be a one-man project like Amazonia?

Seems from a while like JMJ likes going back-and-forth from a more "dancier-popier" project to a more obscure and ambient one…

Yeah, you might be right. JMJ's work has been reactionary: a new album is usually at odds with the album before that, even more so in his later years.

The Lyonnais Jean-Michel Jarre at the sources of electro with his new album
Oxymore, the 22nd album by the musician from Lyon, is a tribute to the school of thought of French concrete music without which today's global electronic music would not exist as we know it.

This is presumably the press release which was presented to the fans by way of a preview. There was a pre-order link up for a very brief period of time, which has been taken down.

Yeah, it does look like part of an EPK, and this is chapter 1 - About Pierre Henry's tribute. Looks like it started from the Electronica project where he made contact with mr. Henry.

BRUTALISM, single 1 of OXYMORE. Out Friday.

My guess it's a digital release of only this track.

So the track is called Brutalism, he changed the Movements names? Or is it a subtitle?
